San Siro stadium to host the Champions League final of 2016.

UEFA has confirmed that San Siro, home of both A.C. Milan and Inter will be hosting the 2016 UEFA Champions League Final.

The decision was made at Thursday's UEFA Executive Committee meeting in Nyon, confirmed UEFA via their official website.

It is the fourth time that the San Siro stadium will host the Champions League final – the previous being in 1965, 1970 and 2000. The last final played here dates back to the year 2000-2001, in which Bayern Munich defeated Valencia on penalties after the game was drawn 1-1.

With this overwhelming news, Italy would be happy to overcome the regrets of losing their bid to France for European Championship.

On the other hand, St. Jacob Park, a Swiss sports stadium in Basel - a stadium which has previously hosted six matches at Euro 2008, will host the UEFA Europe League final for 2015-16.

The Europa League final will be played on May 18, 2016 and will be followed by Champions league within 10 days. The UEFA Super Cup match will be in Trondheim, Norway at the Lerkendal Stadion.
