#3 Duvan Zapata (Atalanta) and Fabio Quagliarella (Sampdoria) (16 goals each)

At number three, there are two players who have taken Serie A by storm this season. Duvan Zapata and Fabio Quagliarella have struck 16 goals each. Quagliarella who just a few weeks ago equaled Gabriel Batistuta's record of scoring in 11 successive Serie A games has now failed to score in his last three matches.

Remarkably, his inability to score has impacted on Sampdoria's results as they have also failed to win in their last three Serie A matches. On the other hand, Duvan Zapata who is also on 16 goals is adored in Bergamo and he has been Atalanta's talisman this season.

He was instrumental in knocking out Juventus in the Coppa Italia and his form in the league has been mesmerizing. Atalanta is currently 6th in the table just four points behind Milan in 4th.

#2 Krzysztof Piatek, (AC Milan - 17 goals)

Krzysztof Piatek was the man synonymous of outscoring Cristiano Ronaldo at one point earlier this season particularly since he played for lowly Genoa. He secured a big-money move to his boyhood club AC Milan in January and that has galvanized the Rossoneri.

The Polish striker has transformed his brilliant scoring form to Milan. He has already netted 6 times including a brace against Napoli in the Coppa Italia. That scoring streak has propelled AC Milan into 4th place in the table with a serious push on 3rd placed rivals Inter.

#1 Cristiano Ronaldo (Juventus - 19 goals)

There are no prizes for guessing who leads the charts. Cristiano Ronaldo surprisingly took a bit of time to adjust to life in Italy and was 'worried' for his personal goal drought during the first few matches in the season.

However, he has hit the ground running and he cannot stop scoring. It would take a monumental effort by the likes of Piatek, Quagliarella or Zapata to outscore the Portuguese hitman who also has an impressive 8 assists to his name in Serie A.

He was on the scoresheet again on the matchday 24 as Juventus swept past Frosinone 3-0 and will be crucial in leading Juventus' charge in the Champions League as well.
