Sportskeeda's take on the EPL transfer rumours of 28th June

Morgan Schneiderlin
Schneiderlin did not have a great first season at Manchester United

Welcome to our daily section of transfer rumour analysis. We’ve picked up few rumours doing the rounds today and tried to bring some sense to it. Manchester United star Morgan Schneiderlin is linked with a move to another Premier League side, whilst reports in the Italian media suggest Chelsea still have a chance to sign a certain Belgian star.

Morgan Schneiderlin to Everton

Morgan Schneiderlin signed for Manchester United at the start of last season, but it seems he could be packing his bags soon. According to Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf, Everton are interested in signing the French midfielder, and he is also open to the idea of a reunion with Ronald Koeman in Merseyside.

Experts say: There are rumours in the English media that say Everton want to sign Schneiderlin, but nothing concrete at the moment.

Our take: There are several rumours in the media linking Manchester United to a few defensive midfielders, whilst Michael Carrick has also renewed his contract. Schneiderlin’s future at Manchester United is in doubt, but there is nothing that suggests it’s over yet. We wouldn’t want to rule out anything yet, simply because his future could be decided later in the transfer window depending on other signings. It remains to be seen if Jose Mourinho wants him at Old Trafford next season or not.

Chances of it happening out of 10: 4/10

Radja Nainggolan to Chelsea

Radja Nainggolan
Nainggolan is set to snub Chelsea

Corriere dello Sport in Italy reckon Chelsea still have a small chance of signing Nainggolan should they make an irresistible offer to AS Roma. The Premier League side last submitted a bid of €37m, but that was rejected by the Serie A club.

Experts say: Italian journalists believe Nainggolan wants to stay at AS Roma and could be signing a new deal soon.

Our take: This one seems to be dragging on for too long, and the fact that Nainggolan is not keen on moving to Chelsea hasn’t helped the Blues either. The pressure the Belgian midfielder has put on AS Roma is probably because he wants an improved contract at the Serie A club. We don’t really see this happening, except if Chelsea decide to pay over the top for the Belgian star.

Antoine Griezmann to Manchester United

Griezmann has been exceptional for France at the Euros

The Frenchman is currently shining at the Euros in his homeland and rumours in Spain suggest he could be leaving the La Liga club. According to El Confidencial, Manchester United are still interested in signing Griezmann, despite him signing a contract renewal recently. It is reported Griezmann and Atletico Madrid agreed to sign a new deal so that the La Liga side could demand a bigger transfer fee from the Premier League giants this summer.

Experts say: Recently, Spanish journalist Guillem Balague suggested Griezmann won’t be leaving Atletico Madrid this summer and has rejected offers from Premier League clubs.

Our take: Griezmann has been repeatedly linked to Manchester United in the last couple of years, but it has never looked like happening. The Frenchman is one of the biggest stars in European football at the moment, and would surely want to play Champions League football. A move is more likely next summer should Manchester United qualify for the Champions League, but he should be staying at Atletico Madrid this summer.

Chances of it happening out of 10: 2/10

Steve Mandanda to Crystal Palace

Mandanda could be leaving Marseille

L’Equipe in France claim Crystal Palace have agreed a fee of €3m with Marseille for their skipper Steve Mandanda. The Frenchman has also been linked to Everton and Turkish clubs, but it seems Crystal Palace are in the pole position to sign him.

Experts say: French media believe Mandanda is on the verge of signing for Crystal Palace and seem to be quite confident about it.

Our take: Mandanda is definitely looking for a fresh challenge this summer, and has admitted he wants to play in Spain or England. L’Equipe are quite reliable, but it remains to be seen if Crystal Palace can agree personal terms with the French goalkeeper.

Chances of it happening out of 10: 7/10
