Aaron Lennon set the ball rolling for Burnley with a first-minute strike, which was denied by the Bournemouth defense. In the 41st minute, Lennon slid behind Vokes to slot in a cross towards the bottom right corner from Gudmundsson's cross to make it 2-0. Lennon set up Gudmundsson with a beauty which deflected off the post to Barnes who slotted it towards the goal. Lennon's speed, off a fast-break, set up Barnes beautifully, who slotted in the fourth goal to secure Burnley's first win of the season.

Ilkay Gündogan

Ilkay Gündogan's unstoppable curling right-footer in the 44th minute, after a one-two with Sterling, provided a three-goal cushion at the end of the first half at Cardiff City Stadium. His earlier attempt in the 29th minute sailed too high, and another attempt got blocked by Etheridge. Gündogan set up Sane from a set piece in the 59th minute, but the header hit the post. In the 67th minute, he played a through ball to the center of the goal as Mahrez netted in past an empty net.
