Sir Alex describes the arrival of Tiago Manuel Dias Correia, popularly known as Bebe as “fairytale story”. A powerful, athletic player with raw potential was acquired by United. Bebe made his senior debut in the Carling Cup win at Scunthorpe and his Premier League appearance against Sunderland a couple of weeks later. He scored when it was needed the most, with a victory over Wolves and Bursaspo in Champions League.

Bebe made few appearances in the Premier League during the 2010/2011 season featured as a premier player as the Reds won the epic 19th title. Later, he was loaned out to Turkish team Fenerbahce. He returned to Manchester in the summer of 2012 after recovering from a serious knee injury. Manchester respects good talent. And placing Bebe alongside Rooney and Chicharito during the 2012 DHL pre-season tour was an example. Bebe was very instrumental during the tour. A late goal from the boots of this young, promising talent saved United from the depths of shame in Africa. How will Sir Alex utilize this edition of pure talent, only time will tell.

Federico Macheda became an Old Trafford hero when he scored a stunning injury-time winner on his debut against Aston Villa in April 2009. Aged just 17, the young Italian told MUTV it was “the best day of my life”. Macheda, the wonder boy of Old Trafford, was brought from Lazio‘s youth system. This young talent has proved his worth with quality strikes in an epic encounter at the St. James’ Park with the Reserves. Macheda always scored when it mattered most.

Injuries took its toll on the Italian, denying him main team place but Macheda succeeded in the play-offs for the reserves. The Italian has always been linked with a first team contract. Macheda was loaned to Sampdoria until the end of the season. Kiko made 14 appearances for the Serie A outfit, scored valueable goals but wasn’t able to save his home club from being relegated.

A magnificent goal in the DHL Manchester United first pre-season game against AmaZulu FC in Durban, South Africa in July 2012 showed Kiko is ready and willing to push for a regular place in the United first team. With feathers in his hat already, Kiko, is the player to watch out for in years to come.

Frederic Veseli was signed from rivals Manchester City on deadline day in January, 2012.

The Swiss defender has impressed United scouts in Switzerland and was offered a deal to move across the city when Manchester City decided to sell him. He made his United debut as a substitute against Bolton Wanderers and was also used in midfield soon afterwards. Now he ready to make full time player in the reserves.

Leading Switzerland to Under-17 World Cup glory in 2009 from the Centre-back, he is one player who has the attention of Sir Alex. Veseli was included on the DHL pre-season tour as one of five defenders named in a 22-man squad by manager Sir Alex Ferguson. He has over the years developed his style of football and improved his game. With Boss playing Veseli on various occasions on the tour, It won’t be long before he makes a cut into the main team. He is a bounty of talent.

The Dublin-born Robert Brady is a talented, tricky and powerful winger. With influencing United and Ireland to local success, Brady follows the lines Cristiano Ronaldo. The new attraction in the Manchester United camp, Jesse Lingard, has shown great progress rate over the years. The forward/ midfielder has made real progress at Reserves level. Indeed, in pre-season for the 2011/2012, he netted in with a number of goals and proved he could handle the step up from Academy football.

A fierce Center attacking midfielder by choice, Jesse Lingard was part of the team that won FA Youth Cup in 2011. The officials have certainly found the edging talent in the youngster and promoted him to first team on occasions. Making first team appearance in Barclay’s Premier League and UEFA Champions League, Lingard is a probable first team promotion.

He was on a three-man shortlist for the Reserves’ Player of the Year award for his efforts over the season. He contributed nine goals in the course. He displayed his entertaining, clever and match winning ability during the DHL Manchester United Pre-season tour 2012.

Italian Davide Petrucci is a highly-rated midfielder, who joined Manchester United from previous club Roma in July 2008. Petrucci impressed United scouts during his time in the Italian capital.

The play-maker is known and was bought by United for his spectacular goal scoring ability and impressive passing. He was part of the Academy side who lifted the Milk Cup in Northern Ireland in August 2008, and scored five goals in 14 appearances. Petrucci scored consistently 2011/2012, contributing eight goals from 25 starts in the Reserves. With Sir Alex Ferguson showing great faith in this young match winner throughout the DHL 2012 pre-season tour, this youngster has only to climb up the ranks from here.
