Thiago Silva says Neymar is considering joining Paris Saint-Germain in the summer

Are Thiago Silva and Neymar about to become club-mates as well?

Paris Saint-Germain captain, Thiago Silva, has revealed that Neymar considered joining PSG in the summer after the two of them joked about it during the FIFA Ballon d'Or meeting earlier this year.

Neymar has been in mercurial form ever since joining the Catalan club from Santos but due to multiple off-field issues, has constantly been linked with other major European clubs – including compatriot Silva's Paris Saint-Germain.

Just before taking on Chelsea in the Champions League, Silva gave French newspaper Le Parisien an interview and was asked which one he would prefer join him at the Parc des Princes: Real Madrid's Cristiano Ronaldo or Barcelona's Neymar.

'"It is a difficult one. Can we take both of them?" he said. "Seriously, they are two world class players. Cristiano has a bit more experience than Neymar. But Neymar is only 24 and is already at the top. I think that next year or the year after, he will be the best player in the world if Messi gives that place up.

"Neymar is very good and intelligent. He has a lot of people who work for him and support him. His father, who I know, is there as well. That allows one to be at peace as a player.

"Because I am Brasilian, I am like his big brother. And Cristiano, he is Portuguese, it is different, even if it is the same language. We (Neymar and him) spoke a bit during the Ballon d'Or in Zurich. I said to him: 'Come, come to play in Paris with me!'

"He laughed a bit but did not react. Then he said: 'We will see, we will continue like this and, at the end of the season, you will know what I will do.'"

With multiple case hearings regarding tax evasion, Neymar is rumoured to be deeply disturbed even though he claims he's done nothing wrong. English giants, Manchester United and Manchester City have been linked with him on a constant basis as have Bundesliga side Bayern Munich.
