The recent Champions League tie between Juventus and Atletico Madrid did not end well for the Serie A champs, who were beaten 2-0 by the home side at the Wanda Metropolitano Stadium. Though it seemed to be a more or less even game in the first half, Diego Simeone’s side took charge of the match in the second period and secured a rather easy win.

This did not go down well with the away players and Cristiano Ronaldo was the one to react. It was actually the Atletico fans that poked the Portuguese star on his return to Madrid, as they asked him to “pay his taxes”.

However, the attacker reacted with a “five-finger sign” suggesting that he had won five Champions League titles with their fierce rivals in the same city. This did not go down well on social media and Ronaldo was trolled for being a sore loser.

This isn’t the first time that it has happened and here are three times that Ronaldo proved that he can’t take things in the right spirit when he isn’t winning-

#1 Taunting Iceland For Euro 2016 Draw Celebration

It is a well-known fact that Ronaldo likes to win and does not like the fact if his team does not, whether it is at the club level or at the national level. However, there was a time when he got really upset by the fact that Portugal drew with Iceland in the Euro 2016 tournament, that he took to social media to point out that it was just a draw and there was nothing much to celebrate about.

However, the fans and players of Iceland didn’t care, as it was a big thing for them. The 1-1 draw was really well received by them and they criticized the then Real Madrid man for his lack of sportsmanship.

#2 Mocking Jose Mourinho And Manchester United For Turin Win

Another instance of Ronaldo failing to be a good sportsman was when Juventus were recently beaten by Manchester United in the group game in Turin. It was a close game and the Red Devils came from behind to take back all three points, in a must-win match.

It was Ronaldo’s goal that gave Juve the lead, though United fought back hard to pick up a couple of wins and seal the win. Mata scored the equalizer and it was Leonardo Bonucci’s own goal that gave the Manchester-based side all three points. It was a narrow win for the visitors, who were keen to win the tie and the forward’s response for his former club was rather unappreciated.

Ronaldo said, "Manchester, they didn’t do much, in my opinion. They created two chances, set pieces, I know the English teams they are always looking for the set pieces. But we will learn from our mistakes and we are still top of the group so we are good.”

Maybe the reaction was a response to the way that Jose Mourinho responded after the win, making gestures to the crowd, with talks about his potential sacking. Despite that, saying that United did not do much in the game was not the best of remarks after the loss that Juve had just suffered.

#3 Skipping Ballon d'Or Ceremony As Modric Was Winning

Another instance which was off the pitch and really not the best display of sportsmanship on Ronaldo’s part was the fact that he missed the Ballon d'Or ceremony, just because he was not winning the award this year. It was already known to the nominees that Luka Modric would be winning the title for the best player, after his performances for Real Madrid and Croatia.

Knowing that the attacker and Lionel Messi decided to skip the event, which was rather shocking. Later when asked as to why he did not attend the ceremony, the five-time winner decided to remain silent on the matter and was rather away from the media on this matter

Well, whatever be the reason, the fact still remains that both he and Messi did not show up to a ceremony where they were not winning and this did not go well with the fans. They have always received a lot of support during their wins and should have done the same on their rival’s triumph too.
