In sixth place on this list is Liverpool’s most expensive signing ever and the world’s most expensive defender.
Van Dijk is ranked 32nd in the CIES list with a valuation of €95 million which is less than what Liverpool paid for him a year ago. His high transfer valuation is unsurprising because he has been arguably the best defender in the world in 2018.
The 27-year-old whose contract expires in 2023 is the highest rated Dutchman and also the second highest rated centre-back behind Manchester City’s Aymeric Laporte in 26th place with a valuation of €104.3 million.
#5. Alisson Becker - €105.6 million
Alisson Becker is the first Liverpool player on this list to cross the €100 million mark and also one of only 27 players in the CIES list to do so.
The 26-year-old had a fantastic year in 2018 for Brazil, Roma and Liverpool. This has helped him climb to 24th on the CIES’ most recent list.
The Brazilian whose contract expires in 2024 is not only the fifth highest rated Brazilian in this list but he is also the highest rated goalkeeper narrowly beating compatriot Ederson Moraes of Manchester City in 27th place with a valuation of €100.1 million.
