Chelsea adjusted well to their new life under Maurizio Sarri and are the only team to beat defending champions Manchester City in the league this season. The Blues are among the top contenders to win the Premier League and find themselves in fourth after 16 matches.

The West Londoners have netted the fourth-most goals (33) this term and boast the third-best defensive record across England's top-flight.

Players including Victor Moses, Cesc Fabregas and Olivier Giroud are currently struggling to earn regular first-team minutes at the club, however, there are a number of players who are enjoying the benefits of Sarri's appointment and find themselves thriving under the Italian's guidance.

With that in mind, here's a list of three Chelsea players who have impressed this term:

#3 Cesar Azpilicueta

One of the most underrated players in the Premier League, Cesar Azpilicueta is an integral part of Chelsea's defence ever since he joined the Blues from Marseille in 2012.

An extremely fit athlete, Azpilicueta never misses an opportunity to move up the field to support the Blues attack and is defensively excellent. The experienced Spaniard has completed 47 tackles in the league this term, the eighth-highest across the division.

He has also made 10 blocks and completed the eighth-highest passes (1,012) in the league too. The former Marseille defender has made 213 Premier League appearances for Chelsea to date, and his dependability was rewarded with a new contract extension last week.

Having won their Players' Player of the Season in 13/14, he has proven a pivotal role in their impressive trophy haul since his arrival six years ago. He was unsurprisingly a standout performer during their 2-0 win over City while helping the Blues ruin the Cityzens' dream of achieving an invincible season in the process.

#2 Jorginho

With his incredible passing range, creativity, vision and ability to control the game from midfield, former Napoli man Jorginho is among Europe's finest midfielders right now.

He brings the best out of his teammates with his exceptional reading of the game and averages an eyewatering 90 passes per game in the league this term - alongside an impressive 90.9% completion rate.

The 27-year-old contributes heavily on the defensive side of things too, working as a shield in-front of the Blues' backline. To date, he has completed 22 tackles this term and helped Sarri's side maintain the third-best defensive record in the league.

The Italian international joined Chelsea for £57million from Napoli over the summer and already, it has proved to be an excellent piece of business by the club. Also linked with title rivals Manchester City and Liverpool, Maurizio Sarri's connections during his own spell in Naples proved vital in luring him to Stamford Bridge.

The Belgium international is enjoying scintillating form at the moment and his stats back that up - scoring seven goals and creating eight assists in 15 Premier League matches this term.

Chelsea's number ten is always at the heart of everything the Blues construct in attack under Sarri and unsurprisingly, won the Player of the Month accolade for September.

He has won their Player of the Year award in three separate seasons and was also the PFA Young Player of the Season in 2013/14.
