It is very difficult to gain an edge in the world of FPL. There is so much information available and most of the good players are highly owned by managers. Nothing gives me more pleasure than discovering a hidden unpopular gem though. Having an FPL player who has an ownership of under 10% is one of the greatest rushes in Fantasy Premier League.

Here, I have prepared a list of 3 such differentials which will serve as good picks for the next 4-6 fixtures. Differentials in this article will be defined as players who have ownership of under 10%.

#1 Son Heung-min (5.6%)

I was lucky enough to have brought this South Korean into my team three Gameweeks ago and he finally came through for me. The happiest South Korean in the world is one of the best FPL assets in the game and I highly recommend getting him while he remains such a huge differential in the game.

Son was Spurs’ best player against Arsenal in my opinion and looked extremely threatening while running beyond Kane on multiple occasions. He is the effective forward in this team. This imminent threat came through when he scored a couple of scintillating goals against Palace at home. He had 5 shots against Palace 4 of which were inside the box and with his lethal finishing ability, this trend should continue. There are a few factors that make Son a very attractive pick at the moment.

A) Form

Son is one of the streakiest players in the league. He’ll go on long runs of scoring and barren runs so, with him, timing is everything. Last year, there was a run where he got 5 double-digit hauls in an 11 Gameweek spell. Likewise, there was also a run where he blanked 11 times out of 12 towards the end of the season. Right now he looks great (he’s Spurs’ best player in my opinion) and I highly recommend jumping on him while he’s hot and rare.

B) Fixtures

Spurs are embarking upon a great run of attacking fixtures that look primed for Son returns. In the next 9 Gameweeks, Spurs only player Liverpool away from last year’s top 6 and that run of fixtures includes the likes of Southampton, Watford, Sheffield and Bournemouth at home.

C) Statistics

In the last 2 gameweeks, only Mane and Kouyate (don’t go picking Kouyate) have had more shots in the box than Son. This means he’s going to get a lot of big chances to score since he plays so close to the goal and is effectively Spurs’ forward. He mentioned this himself where he said that he was playing as striker in the game against Palace in the post-match interview. He also mentioned that he’s looking to get his first hat-trick in the league ever, soon. And he’s incredibly selfish. All the makings of a cracking FPL pick.

With Eriksen, Alli and Ndombele all returning to fitness, Spurs look good for goals. A small addition I would like to make was that Son was nicely rested in their midweek Champions League game which makes him almost nailed to start in the weekend game against Leicester.

#2 Callum Wilson (9.6%)

Like Son, Callum Wilson has the perfect combination of form, fixtures and low ownership that will work in his favour and make him a really good option for the upcoming weeks. For a player that already has 3 goals and 3 assists in his name this season and one that has not blanked so far this season, Wilson has incredibly low ownership.

That might have to do with the fact that the likes of Tammy Abraham, Pukki and Barnes are doing so well. Wilson makes a great case for himself though.

In the next five gameweeks, Wilson faces Southampton, West Ham, Arsenal, Norwich and Watford all of whom are not known for their defensive abilities. All five of then are in the top ten for the amount of big chances conceded so far this season.

Wilson has a healthy five big chances so far this season but with Wilson, you don’t get goal threat alone. Wilson is a unique striker because he also gets a lot of assists. He had 12 assists last season, the most amongst all forwards last season. That trend looks to continue this season as Wilson has created a staggering 9 chances so far this season. Only Gerard Deulofeu has created more chances than Wilson this season (12) amongst all forwards.

Keeping this unique ability of his to get points from multiple outlets, Wilson is a really good pick for the next five gameweeks.

#3 Richarlison (8.4%)

AFC Bournemouth v Everton FC - Premier League
AFC Bournemouth v Everton FC - Premier League

I’ve gone all-out attack with my three differential picks this gameweek but this Brazilian has been knocking on the door for a while now. He is due some points in my opinion because his underlying statistics do not match his output so far.

Everton have fixtures on their side with them facing Sheffield United, Burnley, West Ham, Brighton, Saints and Norwich in their next 8. The remaining two are tough home fixtures against City and Spurs both of whom are not looking defensively water-tight at the moment.

Now let’s come to Richarlison’s underlying statistics. Only Mohamed Salah and Raheem Sterling have more shots in the box than him out of all FPL midfielders this season. He is amongst the top 5 shot taking midfielders in FPL this season. In addition, he’s also created a couple of big chances this season so he does have some sort of assist threat also. The eye-test collates with these stats as I’ve seen Richarlison get very close to scoring a goal quite a few times this season.

If you’re looking for a mid-priced punt for your FPL team, Richarlison comes highly recommended from my end.
