The Belgian joined the Premier League as a teenager from RSC Anderlecht for a reported fee of €12 million rising to €20 million in add-ons. The striker though failed to light up the world with the Blues as the young Lukaku was not given proper game time and spend most of his days with Chelsea out on loan.
