Top 5 Budget Strikers for GW8

Brighton & Hove Albion v Wigan Athletic - Sky Bet Championship
Glenn Murray

The biggest dilemma for FPL managers this season has been choosing the right combination up front.

With all the premium forwards firing on all cylinders this season, many have decided to spend big on attack and compensate for that in the midfield department.

However, with the return to form of premium mids like Hazard, Sanchez and Coutinho and the injuries to Morata and Aguero, we look at some cheaper(<£6.5) strike options for GW8.

#5 Glenn Murray (Brighton- £5.7)

He might not have scored a goal in the Premier League but Brighton relied heavily on his goals to secure a promotion from the Championship.

Brighton are playing a low on confidence Everton side who have the second-worst goal difference in the league. With Hemed out for another 2 game weeks, Murray will be leading the line against Everton on Sunday and would be looking to cement his place in the line up with a good performance.

At £5.7, he'll be a good bet considering the easy fixtures ahead as Brighton have a good playmaker in Gross who will create many chances for Murray to score from.

#4 Diafra Sakho (West Ham- £5.5)

Tottenham Hotspur v West Ham United - Premier League
Diafra Sakho

Sakho put in a spirited performance after coming off the bench in the last game week and showed the desire to score a goal (something which West Ham's other strikers haven't shown in the past few game weeks).

With Chicharito having travelled a lot during the international break, Sakho's likely to start against Burnley and with a string of favourable fixtures line up after that, he's got a good chance to rack up some goals for himself and cement his place in the side.

With the return of Arnautovic, the supply in the box will improve and with what we have seen of Sakho in the past month or so, he's not going to miss too many chances.

The only problem with him is his playing time after game week 8 when Chicharito returns to the side.

#3 Tammy Abraham (Swansea- £5.6)

Swansea City v Watford - Premier League
Tammy Abraham

Swansea have had a decent start to the campaign but haven't been prolific in front of the goal this season but with a few good fixtures lined up for the upcoming game weeks, we might just see Swansea's talented front line break loose and start scoring goals for fun against weaker opposition.

He's familiar with this week's opponents as he scored in both the games against Huddersfield while on loan to Bristol City last season.

The young striker has looked good so far this season and would be expected to improve when Wilfried Bony returns to the lineup (if Paul Clement decides to start them together).

#2 Shinji Okazaki (Leicester City- £5.6)

Leicester City v Brighton and Hove Albion - Premier League
Shinji Okazaki

Leicester's next 4 games have an FDR rating of 2,2,3,2 respectively and they will look to bounce back after a bad start to the season and with Jamie Vardy's injury problems, Okazaki will surely have a huge part to play in the upcoming weeks.

He's already on 3 goals which is quite impressive for a second fiddle striker who has not completed more than 76 minutes in a single match this season.

What makes Okazaki an attractive option is that he plays for Leicester who create a lot of chances which gives Okazaki an advantage over the other strikers in this price range.

#1 Joselu (Newcastle United- £5.5)

Newcastle United v Liverpool - Premier League
Joselu

Rafa Benitez has slowly been working his magic on this young and refreshing Newcastle team and his side must be high on confidence after earning a point against Liverpool.

Joselu, the goalscorer against Liverpool, has 2 goals this season but could easily have had more goals this season as he's just short of Lukaku and Kane in terms of shots on goal.

He was personally praised by the manager so his playing time shouldn't be an issue even with Mitrovic becoming available.

With some easy fixtures lined up for Newcastle in the upcoming weeks, Joselu is a must have for any manager looking to invest in a budget striker.
