Simeone was undone by Real Madrid in two UEFA Champions League Finals
The charismatic Argentinean first appeared in the Champions League as a manager with Atletico Madrid in the 2013/14 season and managed to lit up the tournament. His team won 9 of the 12 games, drawing the other 3, as they reached the finals of the tournament, only to come up against local rivals Real Madrid.

They were seconds away from lifting the title, before finally succumbing to a 4-1 defeat in Extra Time. Simeone would take them to the finals again two years later, only to be undone by their local rivals for the second time, as Real Madrid lifted the title at Atletico'sexpense, this time on penalties.
In the 2016/17 season, Atletico Madrid reached the semi-finals, whereas last season, they were eliminated to the Europa League, but ended up winning that tournament.

Simeone has managed 55 games in the Champions League, winning 31 and losing just 11 and even though his team have been a regular in the tournament in recent times, the Argentinean has never lifted the trophy.
He will be hoping for all that to change again this season and having broken the duopoly of Barcelona and Real Madrid in the La Liga successfully since his arrival, Simeone deserves to get his hands on the Champions League soon.

Deepungsu holds a PG degree in Microbiology and an MBA degree in Total Quality Management. He has an extensive two-decade long writing experience, which includes a decade of sports blogging. His writing prowess has even led his work getting cited on the legendary Franz Beckenbauer's Wikipedia page.
Inspired by Diego Maradona, Deepungsu played as an attacking midfielder for his local club at subdivision level in his initial years and scored an important goal or two. However, his all-time favorite footballer is Lionel Messi, and evidently, he feels Argentina's glory in 2022 is his favorite FIFA World Cup moment for fulfilling his long-standing dream. He is also an ardent East Bengal fan.
Deepungsu has been a Manchester United supporter since the year 2000. Unsurprisingly, his favorite manager is Sir Alex Ferguson and the Scotsman helped him get through some of the toughest days of his life. Like the fiery Scot, Deepungsu also leaves no stone unturned when it comes to accuracy in articles and only relies on credible sources.
Despite believing in Kylian Mbappe and Erling Haaland to create an iconic rivalry, Deepungsu reckons no one can match the longevity of Messi and Ronaldo. He spends his leisure time writing about life on his blog, reading books, and playing the guitar.
