Top 5 players for your Fantasy Team this week

After an enthralling game between Chelsea and Manchester City on Monday night, the title race was blown wide open. This weekend Arsenal travel to Liverpool, whilst Chelsea and Man City will be ready to pounce, if the Gunners slip up. Several players have started to hit form since the turn of the year, and here are five players worth putting into your Fantasy Football team.

5. Gary Cahill

Cahill’s Chelsea host Newcastle on Saturday. Newcastle have struggled to score at times this season, and after a derby defeat to Sunderland and Cabaye leaving, they could struggle at Stamford Bridge. On the other hand, after keeping a clean sheet at the Etihad, Chelsea and Cahill showed just how solid they can be defensively. Cahill is a good bet not only for a clean sheet but a potential goal at any time.

4. Adam Lallana

Lallana has been on brilliant form for Southampton and has given England fans some excitement ahead of the World Cup. His creative quality, is somewhat rare for an English player. His side Southampton are home to Stoke at the weekend, a side who have just beaten Manchester United, but have obvious defensive frailties. He has scored seven league goals and provided four assists already this season, and will fancy himself for much more in the final stretch of the season.

3. Eden Hazard

Hazard is in brilliant form and showed it once again both offensive and defensively against Manchester City on Monday. He has nine league goals and five assists. Chelsea will be bouncing after the victory against City and Newcastle, who leaked goals against Sunderland will struggle to handle the Belgian. With Chelsea’s trio of strikers failing to find goal scoring form this season, Hazard has taken much of the burden on himself, and it certainly an important, but expensive part of a fantasy team.

2. Adam Johnson

Johnson is in great form and Sunderland are taking on Hull at home, on the back of a massive derby win. He now has seven goals and three assists in the Premier League this season. Poyet seems to be getting the best of him, and he’s a cheap option for your team. He has notched up an impressive 27 take-ons, proving he can beat his man too.

1. Santi Cazorla

Cazorla has been sublime in the past month, in fact he was recently awarded the Arsenal January player of the month, deservedly after netting several key goals and last week provided the assist to unlock the Crystal Palace defence. He also has a good record against Arsenal’s next opponents, Liverpool. Scoring in the Gunners 2-0 win against them earlier this season and at Anfield last season. Considering this and his form, Cazorla seems a clever pick for your fantasy team ahead of the weekend.
