#2 Salzburg (24 goals in 10 games; 2.4 goals / game)

Having won all their 6 group-stage games in the 2018-19 Europa League, Salzburg overcame Club Brugge 5-2 on aggregate in the Round of 16 before losing 3-4 to Napoli in the Round of 16 to bow out of European contention for the season.
Salzburg started their 2019-20 European campaign with a bang, registering a 6-2 home win over Genk in their Champions League opener. Their Norwegian teenage striker Erling Braut Haaland became the third youngest player to score a hat-trick on competition debut.

With Haaland also scoring in the Austrian side's next 4 group-stage games, Salzburg needed a home win over defending champions Liverpool on Matchday 6 to advance to the knockout round. But it was not to be as the young Norwegian striker and his team failed to score for the first time in 10 European games during the year.
#1 Manchester City (30 goals in 10 games; 3 goals / game)
English champions Manchester City thumped Schalke 04 10-2 on aggregate in the Round of 16 of the 2018-19 Champions League before a late disallowed goal in the second leg condemned them to a 4-5 aggregate defeat to Tottenham Hotspur in the quarterfinals.
City started the 2019-20 Champions League from where they left off the season before, scoring 10 goals in their first 3 group-stage games, before a pair of 1-1 draws confirmed them as group-winners with a game to spare. A 4-1 victory at Dinamo Zagreb on Matchday 6 ended City's European commitments for the year on a winning note.
With a 70% win-rate in Europe in 2019, a tally matched only by Sevilla, City are one of only 4 teams to score 30 or more goals in European club competition during the year - the others being Chelsea (35), Arsenal (32) and Liverpool (30).
