Torres/Falcao swap deal on?

After my blog post the other day, quoting a Spanish TV programme stating that a “secret meeting” had already happened between Chelsea and Radamel Falcao, it seems that Atletico Madrid could be open to a move being completed, with Fernando Torres moving back “home” to Madrid.

Speaking to the media, Atletico coach Diego Simone said:

‘Right now Fernando’s playing for another team and we will have to wait until the end of the season, and we have to decide which players could come here.

Fernando knows the history of Atletico Madrid, he knows what it means to play for this club. I don’t need to speak about his ability as we were team-mates. I know how important he can be.’

Simone then also spoke of Falcao’s future and said:

‘It’s complicated. I wouldn’t like to say yes or no. He’s a player who always performs and we have to respect his choice.’

So there you have it. Could it be the first signs of encouragement from Atletico to Torres that they are willing to take him home as long as Falcao decides to move away? Would Torres be open to the idea?

We will see what happens at the end of the season.Carefree & KTBFFH!
