Chelsea Player Ratings against Tottenham Hotspur

Chelsea ran riot in the second half.
Chelsea ran riot in the second half.

Kepa Arrizabalaga - 7/10

In his first league start of the season, Chelsea custodian Kepa Arrizabalaga's distribution looked shaky early on. But he got into his groove in the second half. He even shook off a minor niggle in the first half, allaying injury concerns.

Andreas Christensen - 7/10

The Dane was composed in defence, keeping his cool when Tottenham Hotspur looked menacing in the first half. Christensen also produced a spectacular acrobatic block in the opening minute of the game.

Thiago Silva - 9/10

The sky's the limit for the Brazilian, who continued his impressive run in Chelsea's defence with another colossal shift. He made six clearances, one tackle and three interceptions, combining his expansive passing range with typical composure and vision. He scored a goal too.

Antonio Rudiger - 8.5/10

His positional sense on the counter was amazing, as the German helped foil a few attempts. Rudiger added a third goal for Chelsea, with a sweet strike from distance.

Cesar Azpilicueta - 8/10

The Chelsea captain operated in a right wing-back role on the night, and went into dangerous areas. He also showed defensive solidity to keep Reguilon quiet.

Jorginho - 8/10

The Euro 2020 champion was once again the key to keeping things ticking for Chelsea in midfield with his wide-range passing. Jorginho also won four ground duels on the night.

Mateo Kovacic - 8/10

He struggled to find his rhythm in the opening stanza, but the Croat's energy and willingness paid off in the second half. Kovacic also set up Kante's goal with a neat pass.

Marcos Alonso - 8.5/10

His ability to pick out pockets of space in Tottenham Hotspur's defence was menacing, especially in the first half. Alonso also laid out a fine corner kick to set up Silva for Chelsea's opening goal. The Spaniard saw an effort blocked on the line by Lloris too.

Mason Mount - 5/10

It was an uncharacteristically poor game for Chelsea's playmaking wizard, as Mount lost possession several times and won only one of his five ground duels. He was replaced at the break by Kante.

Kai Havertz - 7/10

The German combined nicely with his attacking cohorts Lukaku and Mount, although he spurned a decent chance early on. He was replaced by his international teammate Werner with 20 minutes left.

Romelu Lukaku - 7/10

'Big Rom' fired a blank on the day, but he was far from disappointing. His hold-up play was brilliant as always, but Lukaku suffered from a lack of proper service. He was also unlucky to miss the target with a header five minutes from time.

Ratings of Chelsea substitutes against Tottenham Hotspur:

N'Golo Kante - 8/10

His arrival changed the dynamic of the game, as Chelsea kicked it up a few notches. The Frenchman also got on the scoresheet with a deflected effort.

Timo Werner - 7/10

He missed a good chance in the 77th minute, and then went into the books for a late challenge. But Timo Werner's pace and movements were a cause of concern for Tottenham Hotspur.
