Transfer News: 5 Deals that would change clubs' fortunes

Not all transfers go to plan!!
Not all transfers go to plan!!

As the January transfer window draws to a close, the rumour mill goes into overdrive to churn out links that would get fans buzzing. An unhappy, want-away player, great on the pitch, one that would definitely plug a few gaps in your team and you're already fantasizing of how your team would be so much better with his addition.

January transfers are tough on the clubs. The selling club is desperately trying to hold onto their star so has to not hamper the ongoing season, the buying club doing all in their power to force the other club's hand and get their man. These transfers are especially tricky as the player is expected to switch clubs and hit the ground running which does not always happen. Torres's move to Chelsea and Sanchez's move to Manchester United are prime examples, but never the less, a midseason shot in the arm is always a step in the right direction.

That being said, here are 5 moves that would absolutely break the internet if they went through:

#5 Callum Hudson-Odoi to Bayern Munich

Will the want-sway starlet get his move?
Will the want-sway starlet get his move?

The writing is on the wall with this one. Hudson-Odoi seems to have his heart set on Bavaria with him even going to the extent of putting in a transfer request to facilitate the move. Bayern seems desperate to land their man and seem to be willing to go the distance to see this one through.

Opportunities in the first team have been too few and far apart for the young English winger's liking. With Reise Nelson and Jadon Sancho getting regular game time and them making the most of it would have definitely played on his mind as well. Given the wingers currently at Bayern, i.e. Ribery and Robben both of whom leave at the end of the season and Gnabry and Coman, not in the greatest of form, Sancho is definite to get minutes should he make the move. Goals like the one he recently scored show that he is a confident young lad and Bayern are justified in their firm interest in the young winger.

4 bids starting at £25 million and culminating at £40 million, Bayern is all in on this one. Chelsea, on the other hand, trying to evade the possibility of another one of their brightest talents leaving due to lack of first-team opportunities and then the club regretting it later on. Salah and de Bruyne's examples should have been a lesson for Chelsea, but the club seems to be going down the same path with Sancho as well.

#4 Isco leaving Real Madrid

This constant benchwarmer could walk into an elite squad, but which one will it be?
This constant benchwarmer could walk into an elite squad, but which one will it be?

Isco has been a bit-part player this season with a clear break in working relation with Santiago Solari. The Spaniard wizard has been limited to just 605 minutes of league football contributing to just one goal and one assist. An imminent departure is definitely on the cards. By the look of it, Solari is set to outstay Isco at the Bernabeu, meaning a big move is coming up for the diminutive Spaniard.

The likes of Manchester City, Chelsea and Juventus monitoring his current situation, a move to either of these clubs would be front page newsworthy. Solari favouring a 4-3-3 formation leaves no natural no10 player which is Isco's natural position. Playing out on the wing or deeper isn't something he really fancies.

Isco is obviously pristinely talented and the management sees him as a very valuable player as they had set a huge €700 million buy-out clause in his contract that still stands. It is said that Perez fully backs the manager and believes that the player needs to adapt to the manager's system and not the other way round.

Isco is one of the best creative players in the world and although he isn't playing too often, when he does, there is some royalty about the way he moves. Spain is essentially centred around him. Zidane's third UCL title charge saw him picked over Gareth Bale. He'd easily walk into any side in the world and Madrid would be at a huge loss if they do go ahead and sell him with Modric reaching retirement and no one really there to guide to youngsters in the side.

Manchester City was said to have been making progress to get a move through for the player. Pep would definitely love a player like Isco. He'd be the natural heir to David Silva once he hangs up his boots, but nothing has been reported on that matter. As of now Isco stays put, but if the rift deepens, either the player or the manager has to go and here it looks like it'll be Isco.

#3 Eden Hazard to Real Madrid

Will he follow Courtois to Spain?
Will he follow Courtois to Spain?

From one leaving Madrid to another arriving. Eden Hazard's transfer saga to Real Madrid has been going on for almost four to five windows now. It's time to pull the trigger on it. Hazard is now is now 28 and has one more big transfer left and now is the time to make the jump. Hazard has done everything he can in a Chelsea kit and now it's his time to really have a go at every trophy out there.

This season Hazard has been in scintillating form, scoring 10 and assisted 10 in the league. He is definitely head and shoulders above everyone in the squad. He has shown that he is destined for greater things and this may be his last chance to get himself that dream move to Real Madrid.

Madrid themselves are in dire straights themselves this season. A signing like Hazard would raise spirits and bring some much-needed firepower to the frontline. Ronaldo's departure has dampened Los Blancos going forward and he is just the man to bring the spark back.

Most definitely of Madrid's standards, is it just a matter of time before the Belgian jumps ship?

#2 Kalidou Koulibaly to Manchester United

Could he be the last piece of Solskjaer's puzzle
Could he be the last piece of Solskjaer's puzzle

Manchester United have been a revelation under the stewardship of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. Attacking, exciting football has made its way back to Old Trafford. This sudden change of fortunes has definitely gotten the fans excited.

Something that still remains an issue though is the leaky backline. The team can't always depend on David de Gea to bail them out every time the centre-backs make basic mistakes. Moreover, when they face elite opposition with world class players, even de Gea won't be able to bail them out.

Kalidou Koulibaly is the answer to this problem. A tall, strong, ball playing centre back would make Manchester United genuine title contenders for next season. His ability to carry the ball out of defence would mean the entire team could push up and play with a higher line. This would see the likes of Pogba, Rashford, Martial and Lingard receive balls in dangerous areas of the field and be more direct with their possession.

It would take United a world record bid to tempt the Partenopei chiefs to let one of their best players leave.

#1 Ivan Perisic to Arsenal

A future front three of PAP on the cards?
A future front three of PAP on the cards?

In a matter of weeks, Arsenal has gone from mourning about having absolutely no funds for the January transfer window to singing one of the most coveted wingers in the world! Persic is said to be close to a move to London as he has struggled to find form for The Nerazzurri this season. 3 goals and 2 assists in close to thirteen hundred minutes have seen Perisic want to move on.

Inter have been very professional about this and have accepted Perisic's transfer request. A representative of the club recently came out and said that the club is willing to let the player go as long as a concrete offer is made from a club. He also said that the club had to recoup their investment in the player and that the "economics" of the deal need to be taken into consideration.

An offer of a loan move and an option to buy for £34.5 million at the end of the season from Arsenal has already been rejected by Inter. They seem to be wanting a permanent deal right away. This would greatly bolster the Gunner's attack with a possible front three of Perisic, Lacazette and Aubameyang on the horizon.

Although this wouldn/t solve their defensive issues, it would a great move given that Arsenal can look to simply outscore their opponents. This would also facilitate and return into the contention for a spot in the top four. Manchester United's recent rise in form has led to Arsenal not even being considered as having a chance to get into the top 4.
