Hello and welcome to Sportskeeda's Daily Transfer Roundup. The Premier League transfer window is shut and that means there can be no more incomings in the English top flight. Meanwhile, the transfer market remains open to the rest of Europe and we expect some big deals to go over the line over the next few weeks.

Without further ado, let's take a look at the top transfer news, rumours and updates that made headlines on 13 August 2019.

Atletico Madrid reach an agreement with Valencia for Rodrigo

What a transfer window Atletico Madrid seem to be having! Despite losing Antoine Griezmann to Barcelona (and that's a huge loss), Il Rojiiblancos are not going to slow down or take time to recover. They are splashing the cash in the transfer window and have now reached an agreement with Valencia for Rodrigo Moreno.

Atletico have agreed a €55 million deal with Valencia and Rodrigo Moreno will arrive in Madrid today to undergo his medical. Rodrigo has agreed to sign a 4-year deal with Diego Simeone's side. Valencia have inserted a 20% sell-on clause in the agreement.

However, Atletico Madrid have asked Valencia to wait for a bit while they close the sales of Kalinic and Correa in order to furnish the funds for Rodrigo which they will pay in variables. Rodrigo is one of Valencia's best players if not their very best and as such Valencia were hesitant to sell him.

However, the economic side of the deal ended up being too good for Valencia to pass up. Singaporean millionaire and Valencia owner Peter Lim okayed the deal when the right offer was made by Atletico.

It was being reported earlier in the week that Atletico Madrid were looking to use Angel Correa as a make-weight in any deal to sign Rodrigo. Atletico are looking to sell Angel Correa. However, he has already rejected Monaco and remains keen on joining AC Milan.

AC Milan, on the other hand, has not been able to come up with a substantial offer for the player. Now, Atletico Madrid find themselves in a position where they will need to accelerate a deal for Correa and possibly arrive at a compromise.

Manchester United target Issa Diop says West Ham is “not a springboard to go anywhere else”

When Manchester United are in the hunt to reinforce a position, a lot of names get thrown into the mix. When they went into the transfer market to find a centre-back this past month, there were hardly any top quality defenders that weren't linked with the club.

One of the prominent names on the list was that of Issa Diop's. However, United ended up signing Harry Maguire from Leicester City and Diop continues to be a West Ham player. Now, he has underlined his commitment to the Hammers by saying that he does not consider West Ham as a springboard to go to another club.

He said,

"West Ham, for me, it was not and is still not a springboard to go elsewhere, it’s the club where I want to try to become the best defender I can be, compared to my qualities,"
"Whether technical, tactical, physical, I still have a large margin of progression.”

AS Roma have entered into talks with Liverpool to sign Croatian international Dejan Lovren. Having fallen down the pecking order at Liverpool and languishing as the 4th choice centre-back after Virgil Van Dijk, Joel Matip and Joe Gomez, Lovren has Liverpool's permission to seek a move away from the club in search of more minutes on the field.

The report claims that personal terms are not expected to become a problem as the Serie A club try to agree over a fee with the Merseysiders. The Serie A will kick off this weekend and AS Roma are desperate to sign a quality centre-back before it's too late.

AS Roma were earlier reportedly looking to sign Toby Alderweireld from Tottenham Hotspur. However, they were unwilling to match Alderweireld's £25 million release clause and the Belgian international ended up staying put.

Barcelona's Neymar deal is close to completion and according to reliable sources, it has a lot to do with how much Lionel Messi wants his old friend back at the Camp Nou. Real Madrid are desperate to pip Barcelona to sign Neymar. However, despite reportedly being in advanced talks earlier, it looks like Barcelona are set to sign him.

Messi does not want Neymar playing for Los Blancos and he made this very clear to the Barcelona top brass. He has also reportedly urged him to return to the Camp Nou. Messi wants to bring the MSN back- the world's most dangerous attacking trio that was nearly unstoppable when Neymar was still at Barcelona.

Messi, Suarez and Neymar share a great friendship off the field as well. As per the report, Messi has quite a role to play when it comes to the club's decisions. And Josep Maria Bartomeu is ready to do everything to make Messi comfortable.

Barcelona have sent three of their representatives to Paris today in order to speed up the process of re-signing Neymar Jr. Sporting department head Javier Bordas led the contingent which included director of football Eric Abidal and intermediary Andre Cury.

Barcelona are trying to force Paris Saint-Germain to sell Neymar after the player made it clear to the club that he would like to return to Paris. The trio of Barcelona representatives have been snapped in Paris.

As per another report, Philippe Coutinho's agent is in Paris to negotiate the Brazilian's arrival in Paris Saint-Germain in a swap deal for Neymar. Bayern Munich were also being as reported as being in the chase for Coutinho. However, Barcelona were not interested in letting go of Coutinho if not as a make-weight in any deal for Neymar.

It looks like an agreement could be reached real soon and we'll see the MSN once again at the Camp Nou.
