Manchester City played hardball when Bayern Munich approached them and had almost priced the Bavarians out of move for Sane. In fact, the Bundesliga champions felt the pressure and signed Ivan Perisic on loan from Inter Milan in a bid to shore up their wings following the departures of Franck Ribery and Arjen Robben.
Sane injured his ACL in Manchester City's FA Community Shield tie against Liverpool and has now undergone surgery. The German transfer window will close on September 2 and Bayern Munich are now preparing to return with a reduced bid for the 23-year-old or try to sign him in the winter transfer window.
