Hello and welcome to Sportskeeda's Daily Transfer Roundup. Without further ado, let's take a look at the top transfer news, rumours and updates of the day!

Inter Milan target Romelu Lukaku

Mauro Icardi's situation is quite complicated. On top of being stripped of the captaincy and being excluded from the squad on consecutive occasions, Icardi is now pushing to have a knee surgery. As such, the Nerazzurri are now looking at Manchester United's Romelu Lukaku as a potential replacement, according to Italian newspaper Corriere Dello Sport (courtesy: SkySports).

Marcus Rashford has now demoted Lukaku to second choice following a string of impressive performances and it is being increasingly suggested that the Belgian's time at Old Trafford may be up.

PSG say that Neymar is not for sale

Paris Saint-Germain president Nasser Al-Khelaifi has taken affirmative action towards warding Real Madrid off.

He told Marca,

"Neither Real Madrid, nor any other club in the world, needs to call us about Neymar or any other player. Real Madrid know perfectly well that Neymar is not for sale and that the player won't leave PSG this summer. We have a fantastic relationship with Neymar and his father and it is built to last a long time."

So we guess that's settled then.

Barcelona looking to sign Saul Niguez as Rakitic exit looks likely

With Ivan Rakitic's contract situation still complicated, speculation is rife that he will move away from the club in the summer. As such, Barcelona are looking at potential replacements and have shortlisted none other than Atletico Madrid central midfielder Saul Niguez, according to reports.

Barcelona wanted to sign Niguez two seasons back. However, Niguez decided to stay put at the Wanda Metropolitano and signed a new contract that saw his release clause rise from €80 million to €150 million. With Antoine Griezmann getting a bumper contract, there are suggestions that there is a bit of disquiet among the rest of the squad.

Barcelona are hoping to capitalize on this and lure the 24-year-old to Camp Nou.

Real Madrid and Manchester United will go head to head for Mauro Icardi

Real Madrid have struggled for goals following the departure of Cristiano Ronaldo in the summer. Though Karim Benzema has stepped up in the recent games, the Blancos are under no illusion that he is going to get any younger. As such, according to reports in Spain, they are going to battle it out with Manchester United for the services of Mauro Icardi.

Mauro Icardi's situation at Inter Milan has caught many an eye. With him getting increasingly ostracized at the San Siro, a departure looks certain. With Lukaku not delivering the goals that was expected of him, United are on the lookout for a top striker who can share the goalscoring burden with Marcus Rashford.

As per the report, both European giants are preparing to launch resounding offers in the summer for the Argentine international.
