Hello and welcome to Sportskeeda's Daily Transfer Roundup. This summer transfer window is proving to be quite the ride as several potential deals seem to be taking U-turns of sorts. Manchester United agree fee with Ajax for Matthijs De Ligt as Juve move stalls

Till a couple of days back, Matthijs De Ligt to Juventus seemed done and dusted. However, over the course of the last 48 hours, the deal has hit a stumbling block with Juventus not being able to match Ajax's asking price.

In this current scenario, Manchester United have emerged as beneficiaries. Paris Saint-Germain and Manchester United have been willing to top Juventus' bid for the defender all this time. De Ligt is one of the highest-rated defenders in the world and he is still only 19 years of age.

Juventus have reportedly tabled a bid of €55 million with €10 million as add ons. The Dutch side is not sold on the deal and naturally, want more money for their player for whom Paris Saint-Germain and Manchester United are willing to break the bank.

As such, Manchester United have reportedly decided to take advantage of the situation and agreed a fee with Ajax. De Ligt remains keen on joining Juventus. However, his hands are tied as long as Juve and Ajax can't come to an agreement over the fee.

The Red Devils want to be the first one that De Ligt turns his head to in such a situation and they're doing all the preparation to hijack the deal. Manchester United remain keen on signing Harry Maguire but will not back away from signing a special talent as they stand to gain a lot from the sales of Paul Pogba and Romelu Lukaku who are now close to leaving the club.

Arsenal and Real Madrid are negotiating a deal which will see Lucas Vazquez heading to the Emirates before the end of the summer transfer window. The report claims that Lucas Vazquez prefers to play in the Premier League amid interest from Bayern Munich, Paris Saint-Germain and Inter Milan.

Real Madrid are ready to do the deal and in fact, wants to speed up the process as the Merengues embark on a clearance sale of sorts after having signed top players like Eden Hazard, Luke Jovic and Ferland Mendy for huge amounts of money.

Arsenal are prepared to pay €35 million for Lucas Vazquez. Zinedine Zidane has already warned Lucas Vazquez about playing time coming at a premium from next season and if he wanted a shot at making the international squad, he should move to a club where he can play first-team football.

He said,

"Everybody who joins up tomorrow, and it will be staggered, will have the opportunity to show what they can do, their attitude, the way they play and train in pre-season onwards," Lampard said.

Antoine Griezmann's move to Barcelona looked all set to be sealed. However, things have taken a turn for the worse as for as the Catalan giants are concerned. In response to comments made by Josep Maria Bartomeu about reaching an agreement with Griezmann prior to his availability has riled up Atletico Madrid.

Atletico have ordered for Griezmann to return for pre-season training. Griezmann had, however, earlier announced via social media that he intends to leave the club this summer. Atletico Madrid put up a strong message on their website about Barcelona's untimely approach.

The statement read,

"Following today's quotes from FC Barcelona president Josep María Bartomeu on our player Antoine Griezmann, Atlético de Madrid wishes to publicly declare that:
"On May 14, Antoine Griezmann informed Diego Simeone and Andrea Berta of his decision to leave our club at the end of the season. In the days that followed that meeting, Atlético de Madrid learned that FC Barcelona and the player had reached an agreement in March, specifically in the days following the return match of our Champions League tie against Juventus, and that they had been negotiating the terms of the agreement since mid-February.
"Regarding president Bartomeu's statement today we wish to state that it is true that yesterday there was a meeting between Miguel Ángel Gil and FC Barcelona CEO Oscar Grau, at Barcelona's request and that at that meeting, Mr Grau expressed his intention, once the release clause of Antoine Griezmann's contract had decreased from 200 to 120 million euros, to ask for a deferred payment of the aforementioned amount of the clause in force as from July 1.
