Tottenham Hotspur agree £64 million deal for Dybala; set to sign Coutinho

What a day this has been for Tottenham Hotspur. They've well and truly awakened from their slumber last summer and are now going all guns blazing as Levy looks to give Pochettino the side he desperately needs and deserves ahead of the new campaign.

As per the latest reports, Juventus and Tottenham have agreed a £64.4 million deal for the sale of Paulo Dybala. However, personal terms are yet to be agreed and that is quite an impediment seeing as how the Argentine's purported move to Manchester United fell through as the latter wasn't convinced about Dybala's intentions due to his wage demands.

In a world where Manchester United can't afford Dybala's wages, it is hard to see Spurs do it. However, they wouldn't have to entirely depend on a handsome wage package as they also offer Champions League football which is not available at Old Trafford this upcoming season.

Meanwhile, Spurs are also the favourites to sign Barcelona midfielder Philippe Coutinho on a season-long loan deal. Ernesto Valverdo has a surplus of midfielders in his squad and is ready to part with the underperforming Brazilian. But clubs are not willing to match their £80 million valuation of Coutinho.

According to reports, Pochettino has even phoned the Brazilian to convince him to come to North London. Reports have also suggested that Coutinho was offered to Arsenal. However, the Gunners are focussed on signing a CB following the departure of Laurent Koscielny.

Coutinho and Pochettino have worked together during their time at Espanyol in 2012. Under Poch's tutelage, Coutinho scored 5 goals from 16 games and this could very well be the move that jump starts Coutinho's sputtering career.

Inter Milan to make fresh bid for Romelu Lukaku

Will Lukaku be a Manchester United player next season?

According to reliable journalist Fabrizio Romano, Romelu Lukaku's agent is coming to London and Inter Milan are preparing a new bid for the Manchester United striker. Inter Milan are in desperate need of a striker after confirming that Mauro Icardi is not part of their plans for the upcoming season.

However, they will have to ramp up their efforts as the Premier League transfer window will shut tomorrow and Manchester United will want to, at least, have a shot at signing a replacement.

Juventus had earlier edged past Inter in the race for Lukaku. They had a swap deal involving Dybala agreed with Manchester United. However, United pulled the plug on it as they were not willing to give into Dybala's exorbitant wage demands.

Romelu Lukaku is reportedly set to be fined for missing a training session and training in Belgium without informing Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. It looks like Lukaku has his heart set on a move away from the club and there is a disconnect between him and the managerial staff.

Crystal Palace want £100 million from Everton for Wilfried Zaha

Everton's latest bid of £70 million for Wilfried Zaha has been rejected by the Eagles. Crystal Palace have reportedly told the Toffees that they won't let the Ivory Coast international leave for a sum less than £100 million.

Arsenal were initially interested in signing Zaha but were put off by Crystal Palace's valuation of the player. Ever since, Everton have been the only team pursuing Zaha and have had a £52 million bid rejected by Palace.

Marco Silva wants to add more firepower to his frontline despite having signed Moise Kean from Juventus. Everton were ready to offer £70 million + James McCarthy and Cenk Tosun (on-loan) to Palace. However, Palace are not looking to bring players in exchange for Zaha.

They have now made it clear that any club that wishes to sign Zaha will have to cough up £100 million within the next 24 hours.

Everton have also reportedly had a £30 million bid for Arsenal's Alex Iwobi rejected.

Jurgen Klopp reveals his stance on Liverpool transfer activity

Jurgen Klopp revealed the reason behind his calm demeanour as we approach the end of the Premier League summer transfer window. Klopp does not believe that Liverpool are in desperate need of signing players and does not believe in signing players for the sake of it.

He said,

"You should never do transfers because other clubs are doing transfers. That makes no sense, it's not about that. And if you sit back for a second and have a look at the squad, do we need more players? People will say, yes, we need a substitute for Sadio Mane, for Mohamed Salah, whatever.”
"But those players are here. So, do you get a one-for-one replacement? A big signing? People think that players from other clubs, other countries, are better than the players we have here but without really having the proof, because those players haven't played here, or whatever else.

Manchester United pull plug on Christian Eriksen pursuit as he is interested in Real Madrid move

Manchester United have halted talks for Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Christian Eriksen as they believe that the Danish international has his heart set on a move to Real Madrid as he desires a lifestyle change. Manchester United reportedly remain in talks with other targets although a deal is unlikely to happen in these late hours.

Another report claims that Tottenham Hotspur want Manchester United to pay £80 million for Eriksen. The Red Devils have been put off by that asking price as Eriksen only has a year remaining on his contract and will be available for free next summer.

Tottenham Hotspur and Christian Eriksen have found it really difficult to come to an agreement over the extension of his contract and the Dane is almost certain to leave the club next summer. As such, it is quite baffling that Spurs would demand such an exorbitant fee as they run the risk of losing him on a free next summer.
