Taking on AC Milan at the Giuseppe Meazza, not a lot of people would've favoured the game to go the Gunners' way at the start of the encounter. However, Arsene Wenger's side put in a spirited performance to win 2-0 on the night, and take home an invaluable advantage in the form of two away goals.
Henrikh Mkhitaryan opened the scoring on the night as he found the back of the net as early as the 15th minute of the game, before Aaron Ramsey doubled the lead in the 49th minute. As it turns out, there was just no coming back for Gennaro Gattuso's men, as they fell apart far too easily for a team on a good run.
As usual, Twitter was at its bustling best with fans taking to the platform to express their opinions. Here are some of the best tweets we found:
Here's how Mkhitaryan put the North Londoners ahead

Arsenal, Arsene Wenger, and his men were finally praised on Twitter, but not without the usual trolls making their typical appearances.
Arsenal have done it before, they can still do it again. @MesutOzil1088 Assist King, while #Mkhitaryan can't stop scoring in #UEFAEuropaLeague

— Akshai Srinivasan (@akshai47) March 8, 2018
Don't take this for granted. Two goals advantage it's not much! Things can get really complicated if we decide to sit back because of being afraid to play offensively. Although Milan don't have the best attack we can't let them feel confident! #Arsenal #WeAreTheArsenal #COYG

If you blame Wenger when #Arsenal fails to win, you owe him applause when #Arsenal wins. Some Arsenal fans behave too badly. https://t.co/WxZQdA4llT

Naturally, Gennaro Gattuso and AC Milan were on the receiving end as well
Tonight, we played without brains, creativity, heart and will. Shocking performance and one that all #ACMilan supporters should feel disgusted about. #ACMvAFC
