Higuain has been officially unveiled as a Chelsea player following Maurizio Sarri's press conference hours before the announcement. The Argentine has joined Chelsea on loan for the rest of the season as the Blues look to boost their attacking power. This season, Sarri's team have suffered from the lack of goals as compared to other top teams. Both strikers Olivier Giroud and Alvaro Morata have been unable to meet expectations. The latter is expected to be loaned to Atletico Madrid following Higuain's arrival in London. The former AC Milan loanee would not be able to face Tottenham in the upcoming Carabao Cup tie where the Blues must win in order to advance into the finals. Higuain had been omitted from the squad which faced Genoa in Serie A which further fuelled rumors that he would be joining Chelsea during this winter transfer window. In 22 matches played in all competitions thus far, the 31-year-old has scored eight goals and provided three assists for his team. In the previous season, the Juventus player scored 23 goals in 50 games. Evidently, Higuain is not a player who gets nervy when in front of goal.Morata has been lacking confidence this whole season and the Spaniard has not scored in the Premier League since mid-November 2018. Sarri even left him out of the squad on multiple occasions and there are rumors that there is a lack of trust in the player's scoring ability. Sarrri had worked with Higuain in the 2015-16 season where the center-forward scored a record of 36 goals. His loan move to AC Milan started off pretty well, but he is experiencing a goal-drought in recent weeks. Hopefully, Sarri can get the striker's confidence back on track and ensure that Chelsea is prepared to fight for Champions League qualification spots for the rest of the season.Potentially a huge mistake from Chelsea...Gonzalo Higuain has never played in a country that has a Greggs. If he discovers their sausage rolls, it could be all over. pic.twitter.com/dqWzKTmNFl— Footy Accumulators (@FootyAccums) January 23, 2019Live footage of Higuain having his Chelsea medical pic.twitter.com/fOx9d9ltPT— Troll Football (@TrollFootball) January 23, 2019Chelsea doctors will be performing Higuain's medical like 😂😂pic.twitter.com/jQphxKuDql— Mateo (@KlassyKovacic) January 22, 2019Higuain already has no chance with some fans, just like Sarri, just like Jorginho. Exactly the same reason any other elite striker would take it. Ice in their veins. If you believe in that curse, you’re 1-0 down already. They desperately needed a striker and have gone out and got a very good one. United, Arsenal, Spurs desperately need a player or two and their boards have sat on their arses.
