Manchester City defeated Chelsea in an exciting game to clinch the first trophy of the season in the form of Carabao Cup.Chelsea suffered an embarrassing defeat last time the two clubs met in the Premier League. The Blues put up an amazing performance against the defending Premier League Champions which was totally unexpected.Sarri, who has been criticized for his tactics and performances at the club, proved his critics wrong. The Blues made City work hard for their win and made clear that it is not the time to write them off.Guardiola's City had the most of the possession in the game but failed to find the back of the net. Manchester City had 13 shots throughout the game out of which only three were on target. Chelsea, on the other hand, had seven shots, however, zero were on target over the course of 120 minutes.Hazard was probably the best player on the pitch for the London based club. Kepa Arrizabalaga provided the best performance with Chelsea so far. The 24-year-old shot-stopper saved all the three shots that were on target. As the scoresheet read 0-0 after the end of the extra-time, a penalty shootout was the only means by which the winner of this match could have been decided. The biggest controversy of the match was Kepa's refusal to be subbed out. Chelsea's goalkeeper had received on-pitch treatment two times already, however, refused direct orders for a substitution, which also caused Chelsea the whole game. Jorginho's penalty was saved by Ederson and David Luiz failed to hit the shot on target. Eden Hazard scored an amazing panenka in the final kick for Chelsea but to no avail.Kepa could have saved the first City penalty taken by Aguero. Leroy Sane missed the only penalty for the Cityzens. The pressure was on Raheem Sterling as he was given the responsibly to win the competition for City. The midfielder didn't make any mistake and slotted the ball past in the net.Sarri and Chelsea will take many positives from the game and will look to win the game when they face Tottenham next in the Premier League this midweek. City will face West Ham United next in the Premier League.Fans have since taken to Twitter after Manchester City's win over Chelsea:Kepa Arrizabalag was the main target of Chelsea fansChildren watching that game will now think it’s ok to refuse to do what managers want them to do. It was an utter disgrace what Kepa did. #CarabaoCupFinal— Stephen Elliott (@SleevesElliott) February 24, 2019Before anything, Kepa needs to apologise to Sarri, the coaching staff and Caballero. He's a young keeper who just wanted to stay on the pitch for his club but this isn't the way. Needs to mature now and understand what he has done.— Sripad (@falsewinger) February 24, 2019Kepa winking as if he has won some moral victory when all he has done is earn Sarri the sympathy vote and himself near-total condemnation. At £70m he’ll likely stay over Sarri but his antics not great for Chelsea’s image. Wonder if they’ll consider that. https://t.co/mWjNwwBbdj— Darren Lewis (@MirrorDarren) February 24, 2019Caballero would have saved that Aguero penalty......
