Juventus marched to the final of the UEFA Champions League after recording another convincing 2-1 victory over AS Monaco in the second leg of their semi-final encounter. The Old Lady had carried a 2-goal lead to Turin, having won the first leg 2-0 courtesy of Gonzalo Higuain’s brace.
Monaco started brightly bursting forward in numbers but committed the same mistakes as in the first leg, leaving their defence exposed. Massimiliano Allegri’s side took the lead through Mario Mandzukic, whose header was parried by Danijel Subasic but he bundled home the rebound. Dani Alves doubled his side’s lead with a stunning strike on the volley from the edge of the box, which effectively ended any chances of a comeback by Leonardo Jardim’s side.
Kylian Mbappe scored a consolation goal for his side in the 69th minute as he guided the ball into the back of the net from a few yards out after some excellent work by Moutinho.
Twitter congratulated the Old Lady after their win, which helped them progress to the final, where they will either meet Real Madrid or Atletico Madrid.
