#3 Aaron Wan-Bissaka (Manchester United)

England manager Gareth Southgate's decision to not pick Manchester United's Aaron Wan-Bissaka for Euro 2020 has raised eyebrows.

Wan-Bissaka, who joined Manchester United from Crystal Palace in 2019 for £49.5 million, is one of the best defenders in the league. The 23-year old might have his limitations in attack, but his incredible defensive capabilities could have come useful at a tournament like Euro 2020.

The right-back made 34 appearances in the league for Manchester United, scoring two goals and providing four assists. An excellent tackler, Wan-Bissaka's absence from England's Euro 2020 squad could prove to be costly.

#2 James Maddison (Leicester City)

A highly-creative and talented attacking midfielder, James Maddison has not been named in Gareth Southgate's provisional England squad for Euro 2020.

Long touted to become one of the best players in the Premier League, Maddison has been one of the key players for Leicester City since his arrival from Norwich City in 2018. The 24-year old has impressed with his performances for the Foxes, although the 2020/21 season was plagued with injuries for Maddison.

The former Coventry City midfielder made 24 starts in the league for Leicester City, scoring eight goals and providing five assists. With Chelsea's Mason Mount, Manchester City's Phil Foden and Aston Villa's Jack Grealish all named in the Euro 2020 squad, Maddison's absence from the England squad is a harsh but understandable call

#1 Fikayo Tomori (AC Milan: On loan from Chelsea)

While it was good to see Everton's Ben Godfrey and Brighton & Hove Albion's Ben White get named in the provisional England squad for Euro 2020, the absence of Fikayo Tomori has been difficult to understand.

Tomori has been phenomenal since joining AC Milan on loan from Chelsea in January this year. The 23-year old was a consistent starter for the Italian giants during the second-half of the season, making 17 Serie A appearances and helping AC Milan finish 2nd in the league table.

AC Milan are said to be extremely interested in signing Tomori permanently. Good on the ball and strong defensively, the centre-back deserved to be on the Euro 2020 England squad list.

Apart from Manchester United's Harry Maguire and Manchester City's John Stones, Aston Villa's Tyrone Mings, Wolverhampton Wanderers' Conor Coady, White and Godfrey are the centre-backs named by England manager Southgate in the provisional squad for Euro 2020.
