Paris Saint-Germain coach Laurent Blanc says he would be ‘so happy’ to have Napoli striker Edinson Cavani in his side, as the squad meet up for their first training session on Wednesday (July 2) in Clairefontaine, France.
Laurent Blanc, Paris Saint-Germain coach:
“Very good. Very good. The staff are ready. The players have arrived ready to prepare for the new season.”
“We want t do as well as last year or better. This is logical if we want to progress (and) if we want to be ambitious. We always try to do better than the previous year. So you see the challenge ahead. It is ambitious but it makes sense.”
“In (this) preparation period there is nothing worse than injury for a player because this situation will (make you) reconsider your preparations and it threatens your competitive season. So we need be careful with players who were on holiday. We must try to recover (with) specially adapted (programmes) individualised for each player.”

“I like Cavani. I like his game. I have seen him play many times with the Uruguay national team and also with the Napoli side. If this player will be part of my Paris Saint-Germain team next year – I will be so happy.”
