Winning away from home at the Parc Des Princes is perhaps how Jose Mourinho would have wanted his side to start the tight first leg of their Champions League round of 16 tie against Paris Saint-Germain. (You can watch the goals here.)

However, it was an equaliser from Uruguayan striker Edinson Cavani that held Mourinho and the Blues from securing a crucial away victory after they had first taken the lead through a Branislav Ivanovic header.

The Portuguese praised Thibaut Courtois’ performance which felt kept the Ligue 1 Champions from winning the match. Additionally, he insisted that about five of the players who had started the match were not fit enough as they didn’t train with the team since the Everton game.
