Vine: What is Jose Mourinho trying to tell the Chelsea players?

There’s a distinct part of us that hates to love Jose Mourinho as much as we love to hate him.

He is the ultimate pantomime villain, with his levels of hypocrisy, irrational paranoia and inflammatory mind-games providing the media with a ridiculous amount of soundbites on which to provide endless content.

Gary Neville touched upon his touchline antics following Chelsea’s surprise 1-0 victory away to Manchester City, but Jose outdid himself with some of his gestures from his technical areas, with one such thing grabbing everyone’s attention.

What Mourinho was doing here will probably remain a mystery to us humble onlookers and whether it was directed at his players or the officials is also uncertain.

Whatever it was supposed to be and whoever it was aimed at, one can only hope that they got the message. Otherwise, this is just daft. And we can’t be labelling the first man to win at the Etihad this season as that now, can we?
