Guardiola gets annoyed at a question

Manchester City might be at the summit of the Premier League table, but manager Josep Guardiola is not in as good of a mood as one might think. The inventive Catalan surprised everyone present at the press conference at the Etihad Stadium on Saturday when he swore in response to a question asked by a reporter.

In the aftermath of his side’s 4-0 win against Bournemouth, Guardiola was asked if he thought it possible for City to emerge victorious in all the competitions they are part of this year. However, the Catalan responded in a manner which is sure to leave Manchester City’s press officer in disbelief.

He said “What the f***?”, before pausing for about 9 seconds, contemplating a more appropriate answer. He did say these words after the little break, however, “So Manchester City made it ti the Champions League semi-final once, so when the people believe I am going to win the Champions League because I am a really good coach.. I don’t think so, guys.”

He was upset after being asked the seemingly innocent question, and continued by saying, “My happiness does not depend if I am going to win all the titles or not, so my target is now to be happy today, drink a little bit of wine, and tomorrow prepare the game and of course I am going to try to win our League Cup game [against Swansea City], there is no doubt about that.”

"After we are going to see, so my question is today is: are the people who came to this game really enjoying it? Yes? Wow, that is enough. To win titles or not we will see."

This was not the first time that the usually serene Guardiola has sparked controversy with remarks in a press conference. His press conference criticising Jose Mourinho before a fiery El Classico encounter in 2011 turned a lot of heads, while his altercation with a British journalist after a Champions League game against Manchester United also got plenty of news coverage.

His time at Bayern was also specked with tussles with the German media, and while such incidents don’t do his public image any good, the Manchester City bigwigs will hardly be complaining given their flying start to the season.

City have accumulated a perfect 15 points from their first 5 games in the Premier League this season.
