Wilfried Bony: Manchester City to make formal enquiries

Can he maintain his form at a new club ?

Manchester City are on the verge of making a formal bid on a possible move for Swansea striker Wilfried Bony in January. City have been badly hit by injuries to all their strikers Aguero, Dzeko, Jovetic which might be the reason behind this move. Swansea striker has been in a hot streak of form in 2014.

A journalist noticed that Manchester City's director of football Txiki Begiristain was in stands on Monday night to watch Swansea striker play against Liverpool.

Pellegrini said :“I never close the possibility of any business in the transfer window if we can do anything to give us an advantage,” “If all the teams can do it, we can do it also.”

By this he meant Bony may be brought into Etihad if all the terms and conditions set by Swansea were satisfied by the Champions. But City will have to splash a hefty amount in bringing the player. It is understood that Swansea have removed the £19 million buyout clause from Bony's contract which allows them to demand a hefty transfer fee, in the region of £30 million and may be beyond. It will be a bargain for City if they can buy him for around £25 million.

Bony’s goal scoring record in last couple of seasons will definitely tempt the Champions to make a formal bid for the striker.

With the possible transfer, it is known that he will be the fourth striker at the club and he will he have an upper hand in team selection. It will also give him an opportunity to play in the Champions League which is every player’s dream. Bony in the calendar year 2014 had scored 20 goals.
