When it comes to landing spots in Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 2, players are free to land anywhere they deem fit. This could be at the edge of the island, a hot-drop zone, or at the center of the map. While they can land anywhere they wish, a few spots are better than others in several ways.

While not all of them are safe by a long shot, there is a lot of value to be extracted by landing at these locations. That said, here are five of the best landing spots that players can try out this season.

Mega City and four other landing spots for players to try out in Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 2

1) Mega City

Although Mega City is the 'sweatiest' location in Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 2, it would be criminal to not land there and experience the neon hues at least once. However, futuristic lighting aside, the POI is perhaps one of the liveliest in the game.

While it is difficult to establish a foothold in this area, there are places to hide within the urban jungle. Thanks to Grind Rails, players can rotate around the entire POI without ever having to touch the ground.

That said, while Mega City is the bee's knee, newcomers should avoid it like the plague in most matches. Unless required to land at this POI, visiting it once every few matches is probably the best option.

2) Lotus Lookout

A tiny breakaway island called Lotus Lookout can be found far south of Steamy Springs. Most players would not expect to see this name on the list of best landing spots, but here it is nevertheless. In fact, most are not even aware of exactly where this landmark is located.

With that said, landing here at the start of the match will provide players with a lot of loot. In addition to the items that can be looted within the building on this tiny island, players will also have easy access to the NPC known as Thunder. He sells a Red-Eye Assault Rifle and a Shield keg, but that's not all.

Next to the NPC, players will find up to four chests and a cooler. Even more loot can be found on the stepping stones located south of the NPC. Suffice to say, it's a great landing location for beginners and newcomers.

3) Brutal Bastion

Brutal Bastion was one of the scariest locations a player could land in last season. However, in Chapter 4 Season 2, the POI is rather calm. Of course, players still land here, but they are far and few between.

When playing duos, trios, or squads, Brutal Bastion is a great place to land at the start of the game. The POI has so much going for it in terms of loot and activities. For starters, a Capture Point can be found at the center of the POI, and the NPC known as Highcard also spawns here.

Players can defeat him to obtain Highcard's Havoc Suppressed Rifle (Mythic) as well as obtain a vault key. Although the vaults on the island have seen better days, looting the one at Brutal Bastion will yield a decent amount of loot.

4) Royal Ruin

Similar to Lotus Lookout, Royal Ruin is another landing location that players likely didn't expect to see in this listicle. It is a landmark located in the medieval biome on the older part of Fortnite Chapter 4 island, but that doesn't mean that it's redundant.

Royal Ruin is located on the edge of the island far west of The Citadel. What makes this landmark interesting is that there's only one way in and out of the area. This makes it a good defensive position for players should they get attacked.

While the area adjacent to the bridge has a fair bit of loot, the tower that's located within the landmark contains more. A Holo-Chest can even be found next to the tower, and a Reboot Van is also located here. That said, this landing location is better suited for newcomers and beginners than players looking for an exciting start.

5) Kenjutsu Crossing

Kenjutsu Crossing is one of the newly added POIs that appeared on the island at the start of Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 2. It has a very traditional Japanese architectural design and can be considered somewhat of a fortress. However, those who intend to land here should note that it may get extremely hostile.

The POI can be divided into two halves. The western side contains small buildings/structures, while the eastern side hosts a massive fortress-like Dojo. Here, players will find a Capture Point in the courtyard and endless piles of loot within the structure itself.

What makes this POI stand out from other Japanese-themed POIs is the abundance of Kinetic Blades that can be found. A total of 10 spawn within the fortress-like Dojo.

This POI is best suited to experienced/veteran players and is the perfect landing location when playing trios/squads.
