Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 5 is scheduled to be released in early December 2022. Unfortunately, it appears that Epic Games may have postponed it. New hints suggest that the latest season of the popular video game will be released in the second half of the month.
The current Fortnite season is in its final weeks. More specifically, there are four more weeks left in the season, which is why the v22.40 update might be the last major update of Chapter 3 Season 4.
The next update will be released on Tuesday, November 15. The update will be huge and add a lot of content to the video game, but it may also reveal the exact release date of Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 5.

Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 5 could be postponed until December 18
The current season of the popular video game is scheduled to end on Saturday, December 3. This means that Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 5 should be released on December 4. The current Battle Pass screen shows December 3 as the end date of the current season, but it may not be accurate.
With the v22.30 update, released on November 1, Epic Games released The Herald quests to Fortnite. Players need to complete these quests to unlock the exclusive character who serves as the primary antagonist in the current season.
These new quests reveal that the next season of the video game may be released in the second half of December. As you can see in the screenshot above, the quests are scheduled to expire in six weeks.
Considering that The Herald is a Battle Pass character, making her available during Season 5 makes no sense. It is very unlikely, if not impossible, that Epic Games will make the character available during the next season.
On the other hand, there has to be a reason why The Herald quests expire in six weeks. One explanation is that Epic Games simply made a mistake and that it was a visual glitch. The other explanation, however, is that Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 5 will be delayed.
If the current expiration of the quests is not a visual glitch, this means that the current season will end on Saturday, December 17. Considering that Epic Games releases new seasons on Sundays, Season 5 will begin a day later.
How long will the downtime be?
A few weeks ago, there were some rumors regarding Epic Games releasing Chapter 4 in December 2022. These rumors also claim that the downtime for the next season will last for two days, similar to The End event from Chapter 1.
However, it appears that these rumors are false. Based on the latest information, the downtime for Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 5 will only last for 12 hours. Considering that the new season will bring a lot of new content to the game, this shouldn't pose too much of a problem.
