A new Dragon Ball collaboration hit Fortnite earlier this week, bringing two more characters from the popular anime into the game.

Last year, players saw their favorite Dragon Ball characters, including the likes of Beerus, Goku, and Vegeta, enter the loop.

This time around, it was Gohan and Piccolo who arrived in Fortnite. Players also saw the return of Kamehameha and the Nimbus Cloud Mythic. Additionally, the Capsule Corp Creative island was re-added with extra quests for players to complete for free rewards.

While the arrival of the two characters was well-received, many players wish similar effort had been put into previously released Dragon Ball cosmetics. A player recently took matters into their own hands and created a concept for the Goku skin using the Gohan outfit that Fortnite and Dragon Ball fans love.

How Fortnite community reacted to concept artist's creation of Goku using Gohan's skin model in Chapter 4

A Redditor named My_Boi_ posted a Fortnite cosmetic concept on a thread where he remodeled the Goku skin on Gohan's base model in Chapter 4. Ever since Goku made an appearance in the game, players have wanted the character to feature a more realistic style in his Super Saiyan mode.

Now that players have seen the Gohan skin, which resembles his anime character, they hope Goku will get a makeover as well. They got their wish through the concept artist who told the community that he did a rough mockup of what Goku would look like if remodeled over Gohan's outfit.

The community quickly took notice of the concept and flooded the post with comments, complimenting the concept artist for their skills.

A user said the concept looks better than the original outfit. They also pointed out that Epic Games had fixed Han Solo's face to make it look more realistic, so they can expect the same with Goku as well.

Another user pointed out how the Gohan and Piccolo skins look much closer to their anime counterparts, and this might be due to the latest Unreal Engine that was launched during Fortnite Chapter 4.

Players now realize how badly the Goku and Vegeta skins were remodeled on the older engine. They now look worse in comparison to the latest outfits.

However, a user called Tau3Eridani pointed out that the facial animations that Epic Games added to the Gohan and Piccolo skins make them far superior to Goku and Vegeta, which have static animations. Moreover, they fear that the studio might not update the older outfits as it releases new ones every season with updated graphics and visual geometry that look dynamic.

The current Fortnite season is one of the most visually stunning ones to ever exist in the battle royale genre, thanks to the latest Unreal Engine 5. However, players are noticing numerous flaws with in-game cosmetics from previous seasons as well as a few items that date all the way back to Chapter 1.
