What is Chrome Vortex in Fortnite? Well, in layperson terms, the giant Chrome Tornado can be seen swirling about on the island. There are two at the moment, and perhaps as the season progresses, Epic Games will add more.

While they seem destructive in nature (which they most certainly are), they provide players with mobility and allow them to rotate easily. Although they've been around since the start of Chapter 3 Season 4, not everyone has used them.

To help players get on the bandwagon, Epic Games rewards 20,000 XP to those who enter a Chrome Vortex. That said, here's a quick and easy guide to completing the challenge without hassle.

A step-by-step guide on how to enter a Chrome Vortex in Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 4

1) Mark the location of a Chrome Vortex on the minimap

In every match, two Chrome Vortex will spawn on the island: one near Herald's Sanctum (which is a guarantee), and the other can vary from match to match. The first thing to do for this challenge is to mark the location of a Chrome Vortex on the minimap before the match starts.

Although they can be seen with the naked eye during the landing phase, it's best to mark them. This will ensure that even if players get confused after jumping out of the Battle Bus, they will be able to find their bearings easily.

2) Jump off the Battle Bus and dive towards the Chrome Vortex

Once the Chrome Vortex is nearby, jump off the Battle Bus and dive straight towards it. If it's too far from the bus' route, a bit of gliding may be required. That said, be sure to judge the distance correctly, or else a bit of leg work will be needed.

While this is not an issue, opponents that may have landed nearby and geared up will now be on the hunt. Running into armed opponents early in the game may be disastrous. Nevertheless, reaching Chrome Vortex will be easy with a bit of timing and fancy footwork.

3) Make contact with the Chrome Vortex and reach the top of it

Once contact has been made with a Chrome Vortex, players will get Chromed and will swirl around the anomaly. While the Chrome Vortex will pull players towards it, getting out is not difficult at all.

That said, players should wait until they reach the very top before deploying their glider and rotating. This will ensure maximum air-time and allow players to rotate at a good distance.

4) Rotate to a safe location to continue the match

Once the glider has been deployed, players will have to rotate to a safe area to gear up and start the match. It's best to avoid named locations as they will be swarming with opponents.

The best option will be to seek out trivial landmarks and isolated loot locations. Once enough gear has been collected, players can normally get on with the match and try to get a victory royale.
