Unlocking Halloween events in Fortnite Battle Royale is relatively easy. While completing 25 quests sounds difficult, the truth is that most of them can be completed in just a couple of seconds, and it's possible to complete multiple quests in a single match.

Unfortunately, some players do not have enough time to play the game during the event, yet these quests expire in only a few days. For some reason, Epic Games granted the exclusive pickaxe to those who haven't completed 25 challenges, which is why a lot of players want to know how this happened.

In the early days of the Fortnite Halloween event, players had to hit an opponent while the Wolfscent ability was active. This was a Fortnitemares quest that was part of the exclusive questline to unlock free cosmetic items.

Epic Games, however, eventually removed this quest and replaced it with another. The quest was cancelled due to a problem with the Mythic Howler Claws, which gave players an unfair advantage over their opponents.

The Fortnitemares quest was impossible to complete without the claws, so Epic replaced it with another challenge. However, because some players completed the quest before it was removed from the game, they received the pickaxe before completing the 25 challenges.

Epic Games fixed the issue with the claws and added them back to the game. However, the quest was removed permanently and is no longer available.

Halloween event is coming to an end

The Fortnitemares 2022 event ends on Tuesday, November 1. The event will end with the release of the v22.30 update. Epic Games will add a lot of new content with the upcoming update, but Halloween challenges will no longer be available.

To unlock the exclusive glider, you will have to complete five exclusive quests, while unlocking the back bling requires 13 quests. The pickaxe is arguably the best Halloween item, which is why it's locked behind the 25-quest requirement.

Once the new update comes out, you will not be able to earn these items as they are exclusive to the Halloween event and are unlikely to be released to the Item Shop.
