Fortnite has gone through massive changes over the past five years. While Epic Games initially focused on the Battle Royale mode, the situation has drastically changed since the release of Creative.

It was released in Chapter 1 Season 7 and a lot of players enjoy it. In fact, so many from the community engage with it that the Creative mode makes up more than 50% of the total playtime in the video game.

Unfortunately, Epic sometimes pushes the Creative mode too much. The Discover tab is a good example of this, which is why so many players have complained about it. Reddit user OOGraham recently posted:

However, it is very unlikely that the game developer will do anything about this.

What is the Discover tab in Fortnite and why is it bad?

The Discover tab can be found in the game selection menu. It features numerous Creative games from talented creators. Unfortunately, players have faced many issues with it.

Not only is Epic Games somewhat forcing Fortnite players to go through this tab when switching to their favorite modes, but the content moderation is awful. The tab features hand-picked games by Epic, but they are not that good.

Unfortunately, Epic most likely won't remove the Discover tab. With Creative 2.0 just around the corner, the developer could further emphasize the tab and even reward players for playing creator-made games through it.

Players are hoping that Epic Games does something about the Discover tab

Reddit user OOGraham recently started a new discussion on the popular platform, claiming that Fortnite's Discover tab is "hot garbage level awful." They pointed out some of the biggest flaws with the tab, saying that Epic Games needs to clean it up.

The Discover tab has a lot of clickbait titles and pictures and indicates that players can perform certain actions that are not in the game. Furthermore, a lot of maps claim that fans will be able to earn a lot of XP through them, which is not the case.

Another Reddit user joked about the Fortnite Battle Royale subreddit having better moderation than the Discovery tab.

Several players have asked Epic Games to add a search bar to the Discover tab. This feature would make it much easier to find custom games and would most likely positively impact the feedback.

The biggest problem with the Discover tab is the moderation of maps. Epic Games should make the most popular picks appear at the top, which is not the case at the moment.

Considering that this is the first and main tab in the game mode selection menu, Epic should definitely do a much better job.

One Fortnite player pointed out how a lot of creator-made maps break the rules, which shouldn't be allowed. Considering that these picks get published and featured, there is a chance that Epic Games doesn't even manually review them.

Epic has stopped releasing limited-time game modes and replaced them with creator-made maps. While this is certainly a smart move by the developer, the truth is that the Discover tab needs a lot more work.

The next Fortnite update will be released on Tuesday, January 17, and it will be interesting to see if Epic does anything about the tab with it.
