Fortnite's 40 vs 40 LTM has finally come out with the v22.40 update. The update, released on Tuesday (November 15), has added a lot of new content to the popular video game, and this limited-time 40v40 game mode is the newest addition. The mode was leaked more than a month ago and is a variant of the 50v50 LTM, the first LTM ever released to Fortnite Battle Royale.

The 40 vs 40 LTM will definitely be very popular among players, however, it will most likely be removed by the end of the season. This article will reveal all the details regarding the new Fortnite mode and explain everything you need to know about it.

The 40 vs 40 LTM is very similar to the 50v50 mode, which was released all the way back in 2017. Before the 50v50 was released, players were only able to play one of the three core modes. There was no Creative mode, no Team Rumble, or anything else.

Due to this, the limited-time game mode has become instantly popular. It was the perfect mode for casual players who wanted to take a break from the classic battle royale experience and try something new.

With the release of the v22.40 update, Epic Games has decided to bring back the popular limited-time game mode. It has received a couple of changes as there are now 80 total players, 40 on each team. Furthermore, the 40 vs 40 LTM is only available in the Zero Build mode.

"The match begins with the Storm already circling the first zone, and you’ll see Uncommon-rarity items already in your loadout. The result? The action starts right away in this fast-paced, Zero Build LTM." - In-game description of the 40 vs 40 LTM.

The limited-time game mode was not immediately active, instead, Epic Games will activate it on Tuesday at 10 AM Eastern Time.

At the moment, it is unknown how long the mode will stay in the game. However, considering that Chapter 4 is just around the corner, it will most likely be active for two more weeks.
