Officially released on Monday, March 20, 2023, the latest Fortnite update (v24.01) isn't a major patch, but it has brought about one of the most important aspects to the video game.

Epic Games has released an update in preparation for Creative 2.0, which will be one of the biggest updates in the history of Epic Games' battle royale title. Additionally, the development team seems to have fixed several bugs with it.

Despite v24.01 being a minor Fortnite update, it's of great importance that video game clients are updated regularly. While the size of the update may vary from one platform to another, it won't exceed two gigabytes on any platform.

The March 20 Fortnite update has introduced no new cosmetics or gameplay features. However, Epic Games used it to add finishing touches to the Unreal Editor for Fortnite, also known as Creative 2.0.

After months of waiting, players will finally be able to gain access to the massive Creative update this Wednesday. The Unreal Engine Editor will only be available on PC as it requires a hefty amount of processing power.

However, all of the new maps that are created with Creative 2.0 will be playable on every platform. This includes the Fortnite OG map as well, which is currently in development by Atlas Creative.

The v24.01 update has brought along several smaller bug fixes. Epic Games announced that the split screen mode on Xbox Series S has been fixed and that players won't be able to play the mode at 120 FPS.

Essentially, the latest update only affects Xbox players who use the split screen mode. However, Epic had to release it to prepare Fortnite for the upcoming Creative 2.0 and to ensure that its integration goes smoothly.

It's important to note that players won't have to update their clients once the Unreal Engine Editor is officially released. Instead, they'll simply have to download the tool from the Epic Games Store.

Based on information from reliable Fortnite leakers, Creative 2.0 will be released on Wednesday, 22 March, 2023 at 12:00 pm Eastern Time. Interestingly, PC players can already add this tool to their wishlist.
