Three of the most prominent Fortnite content creators, SypherPK (Ali Hassan), Lachlan Ross Power, and Ali-A (Alastair Aiken), sat down and interviewed Epic Games CEO Tim Sweeney. Over the course of the conversation, he revealed that the first-person mode is being developed for the not-too-distant future.

Right now, there's no way to know for certain when this new feature/mechanic will be ready. Many assumed that it would be released at the start of Chapter 4 Season 2, but much like Hurdling, it has disappeared without a trace.

When can players expect to use the first-person mode in Fortnite?

Although this new mode was in fact present in-game files and was accessible via glitch, Tim Sweeney's statement confirms that it's far from ready. While the safest bet would be to expect this new feature/mechanic to show up at the start of Chapter 4 Season 3 or 4, this is based on guesswork as well.

While there is a lot of proof in this proverbial pubbing, it's clear that the developers have their work cut out for them. Nevertheless, given how much the game has evolved since the start of Chapter 3 back in 2021, it's safe to say that the developers will pull through. That said, that's not the only thing that was discussed during the interview.

Tim Sweeney spills the "Slurp Juice" on major upcoming features for Fortnite and UEFN

Apart from the fabled first-person mode, there's a lot more that's in development. With Unreal Editor for Fortnite going live, this turns over a new page in the history of the metaverse. While it's still in beta, it's clear that Tim Sweeney has a roadmap in place.

During the interview, he mentioned that the next patch for the game will "possibly" include live-player count stats for maps in Discover. While this doesn't sound like a huge deal, it will allow players to see which maps are populated. They can then use this information to choose a map that has a lot of traffic to avoid long queue times.

In addition to visible map traffic, 'Creator Pages' are also coming soon to the Fortnite Website and Discover. Since information pertaining to island creators is usually limited to personal/professional social media accounts, this will help them gain visibility far easier.

Furthermore, players will soon be able to follow creators to stay updated with their content and/or to receive updates about new projects or bug reports. If nothing else, this will help create a stronger bond between the community and island creators and/or creators in general.

Last but not least, as per Tim Sweeney's statement, Epic Games hopes to have the Battle Royale mode as a separate download option in the future. This is similar to how the Save The World mode works currently. In all probability, the long-term goal is likely to showcase Fortnite as its own platform, wherein players can pick and choose what they want to do.

Although this sounds rather odd at the moment, considering that the BR mode was an add-on after the STW mode launched, this move would make sense. With all that said, it's clear that Epic Games has a lot planned for the future, and the introduction of Unreal Editor for Fortnite is just the beginning.
