Epic Games' Fortnite Creative 2.0 is the next leap forward when it comes to in-game content creation. This new technology will allow creators to develop larger-than-life custom experiences that users can dive into through the popular battle royale title's Creative Mode.

Based on the information that was officially provided by Epic Games, UEFN (Unreal Editor for Fortnite) is set to go live on March 22, 2023. Although they haven't revealed the exact time, leakers/data miners have been able to find something in the game's files that offers an answer to this question.

Reliable leakers/data miners have recently ascertained that the Unreal Editor for Fortnite will go live sometime after 1:30 pm Eastern Time today. This information was discovered by interacting with the 'code panel' on the Epic Games website.

According to them, this 'speculated' time synchronizes perfectly with the end of the State of Unreal showcase, which is also scheduled for March 22, 2023. It will begin at 12:30 pm Eastern Time and is expected to end sometime around 10:45 am PST, which is 1:45 pm ET.

Furthermore, releasing the UEFN shortly after the showcase certainly makes a lot of sense. This will give the developers more than enough time to explain the features of this new software and provide additional information as well. With that said, here are the release dates and times for all regions:

  • Pacific Standard Time: Wednesday, 10:45 am
  • Mountain Time: Wednesday, 11:45 am
  • Central Time: Wednesday, 12:45 pm
  • Eastern Time: Wednesday, 1:45 pm
  • Brazil, Rio: Wednesday, 2:45 pm
  • London, United Kingdom: Wednesday, 5:45 pm
  • Central European Time: Wednesday, 6:45 pm
  • United Arab Emirates: Wednesday, 9:45 pm
  • India: Wednesday, 11:15 pm
  • China: Thursday, 1:45 am
  • Japan: Thursday, 2:45 am
  • Sydney, Australia: Thursday, 4:45 am
  • Auckland, New Zealand: Thursday, 6:45 am

Note: The release date and time for UEFN is subject to change at Epic Games' discretion.

Is Unreal Editor for Fortnite free?

Yes, UEFN is free and can be accessed by anyone who owns Fortnite, a free-to-play game. As seen in the Epic Games store, it's listed as an 'add-on' and won't cost players any V-Bucks or real-life money. That being said, not everyone will be able to utilize this application.

For casual gamers or those who simply want to play the game, there's no need, or use, to download this add-on. It will only take up space on the device without adding any value to the core title or gameplay experience. Since this is primarily focused on creators, it's best to leave this add-on to them.

Speaking of add-ons, Epic Games will soon introduce Creator Economy 2.0 as well. In short, this new system will allow island creators to earn revenue based off of the footfall in their custom island(s). They will no longer have to be solely dependent on their Support-A-Creator Code.

That being said, while there is some information regarding this upcoming system, there's no timeline in place yet. According to leakers/data miners, it's likely to be implemented 'soon.' More details about the system may be revealed in the upcoming State of Unreal showcase.
