Unfortunately, the highly anticipated Fortnite update v24.10 was delayed for a day. Instead of the usual update pattern of being released on a Tuesday, it will now occur today, which is a Wednesday (March 29, 2022). Nevertheless, the time remains the same. The downtime period will begin at 4:00 am Eastern Time.

As is customary, the servers will go offline 30 minutes prior to the downtime starting. Those in BR mode or enjoying Save The World should consider ending their session well before 3:30 am Eastern Time to avoid losing out on any progress.

With this being the first major update date of the season and considering the fact that it's right before Easter, the downtime may last longer than usual. If nothing else, the servers will likely be offline for roughly three to four hours. That said, they will undoubtedly be online by 8:00 am Eastern Time at the latest.

Either way, with today being a working/school day for most players in the Eastern Time Zone, they will most likely be unable to play the game until the late-afternoon. Even if the downtime lasts longer than expected, it shouldn't matter too much.

Fixes and content changes for Fortnite update v24.10

As revealed by leakers/data miners, plenty of content will be pushed into the game following the update v24.10. Let's start with the elephant in the room: the Easter Event. Although there's bound to be no live event, there will be an in-game event to celebrate Easter.

Much like every other year, Easter-themed weapons and cosmetics will be added back to the game. Various Outfits that fit the holiday theme will be brought into the Item Shop, while the Egg Launcher will be re-added to the loot pool.

Unfortunately, this will likely only remain accessible in-game until April 10, 2023. Nevertheless, it will be a welcome change of pace and should add some flavor to the occasion. Additionally, new types of chicken will also be added to the game.

Based on the information that's currently available, they will lay 'Low Gravity Hop-Rock Eggs,' which players can consume in order to obtain the Low Gravity effect. Furthermore, a brand new Reality Augment as well as Quests/Challenges will also be added to the game for the Easter Event.

Furthermore, the 'Smart Pistol' that was showcased in the trailer for Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 2 could potentially be added to the game. This weapon, in theory, should work similar to the 'Smart Weapons' showcased in certain action games such as Cyberpunk 2077. The only difference would be that users would require a clear line of sight to shoot the target. Shooting while concealed behind cover won't work with this weapon.

Last but not least, two bugs are set to be fixed in the Fortnite update 24.10 as well. The first is slated to re-enable Zip Lines in Party Royale Mode, while the second one will fix FPS capping issues on some devices (cloud and mobile).
