Fortnite player finds an NPC who is an aimbot in disguise, here's why

Following the Fortnite update v24.10, NPCs were reworked and given class-based perks in-game. They are divided into four types: Scout, Heavy, Supply, and Medic. These Specialist NPCs cost 250 gold bars to hire, and while that may seem like a steep price, as one player discovered, the in-game currency is well spent.

It seems that the Scout Specialist NPC is almost using the aimbot in-game. While the very notion of this is rather absurd, the moment was caught on video and recorded by the player. With that said, here's more about this 'aimbot' using NPC in Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 2.

Fortnite's aimbot NPC will give professional snipers a run for their V-Bucks

In a video posted on Reddit by a user called gabi1212, the Scout Specialist NPC, known as Longshot, can be seen eliminating an opponent during a match. The thunderous sound of the heavy-round leaving the Heavy Sniper's chamber can be heard before the opponent de-spawns in mid-air.

By the looks of it, the Scout Specialist NPC not only performed a one-shot elimination likely by getting a headshot (or finishing off the opponent on low HP), but it also did so while in a no-scope mode. Surely, this must be an aimbot, right? Well, while that may seem like the case, it's not true.

Since Scout Specialist NPCs, such as Longshot and Insight, have been programmed to support players using Heavy Sniper, they are better in combat than most other NPCs. It is possible that their accuracy has been slightly tweaked and improved. However, based on personal experience, both these Scout Specialist NPCs do miss their shots.

If anything, the opponent that was one-shot eliminated in the video would have survived if they had jumped off the building rather than switching to the Kinetic Blade. Nevertheless, the fact that an NPC was able to be useful in Fortnite has the community singing praises.

Where to hire Scout Specialist NPCs in Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 2?

The current season has two Scout Specialist NPCs. Longshot, can be found at Royal Ruin (far west of The Citadel). Insight, can be found northwest of Solitary Shrine (far west of Brutal Bastion). They cost 250 gold bars each to hire.

While their primary role is to support players in combat, they can also highlight chests and ping opponents that are within a certain radius. This makes them invaluable when scouting out new areas and looking for opponents.

In dire situations, they can even be used as a bodyshield to soak up incoming fire from opponents. However, be warned that once their HP reaches zero, they will de-spawn from the match. It's better to keep them alive as their utility is much higher in this way.

With all that said, Specialist NPCs are changing the way Solo playlists work. Given the utility each class of Specialist NPC provides, it makes matches more dynamic and changes how combat is waged in certain scenarios.
