Fortnite Syndicate Quests not working: How to fix

A brand new set of Fortnite Syndicate Quests officially went live on April 4, 2023. Like the first batch, they narrate the events taking place in the current timeline and give players an idea as to what may occur in the coming days. While some of the audio logs present in these Quests speak of foreshadowing events, at present, the Syndicate Quests themselves seem to be running into problems.

Soon after the Quests went live, Epic Games issued a statement saying that they were investigating an issue that prevented players from completing 'Stage 3' of the Syndicate Quest. While there are no official fixes put in place by the developers, players can try a few things to potentially resolve the issue themselves.

It would seem that this issue is only affecting a handful of people. While some have reported this Syndicate Quest not completing despite them following the instructions "to a T," many others have been able to complete it in one go.

This would suggest that it's a bug/glitch that is triggering the Quest and causing it to fail. So, how do you fix it? Since Epic Games will take some time to implement an official fix, players can try a few things to solve the problem themselves:

1) Verify files

The first method to try and fix this problem is quite straightforward. Go to the Epic Games Launcher, look for Fortnite, and verify the file's integrity. At times, files tend to get corrupted and negatively impact the gameplay experience. Anyone who uses the Replay Mode frequently will know this for a fact.

Depending on the device on which the game is being played, the verification process may take some time. Once it's done, hop back into the game and try again. If the Fortnite Syndicate Quest still isn't working, you can try out the next method.

2) Use weapons of different rarities

Rather than using weapons of Epic rarity, try using Mythics and/or Exotics. These can be obtained by defeating the Highcard Boss, opening a Vault, or by using Keys to open Holo-Chests. Keep at least two high rarity weapons in your inventory to increase the odds of success.

3) Exit to the lobby and try again

The last resort to fix the "Fortnite Syndicate Quest not working" issue is to exit the lobby and try again. While this fix is rather rudimentary in nature, at times, it does work. Since the bug/glitch is likely associated with the in-game servers, starting a new match may resolve the issue.

When will Epic Games fix the "Fortnite Syndicate Quest not working" issue?

Since Challenges/Quests are valid until the end of Chapter 4 Season 2, there's a lot of time on hand to deploy a fix. In the worst case scenario, even if the fix takes a week, it won't affect players in the least. They will then be able to complete the task and earn experience points.

With that said, with the next Fortnite update v24.20 that's scheduled to go live on April 11, 2023 (Tuesday), the developers may just deploy a fix alongside other known bugs/glitches. For now, the best thing to do would be to avoid attempting this Syndicate Quest.
