Where to find Grim Gables in Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 4

Grim Gables was added to the island following the Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 4 update v22.10. Initially, this POI was suspected of playing host to the Stranger Things collaboration, but nothing came of it. Instead, a brand new NPC boss known as Inkquisitor was added to the game.

Despite this POI being one of the creepiest on the island, not many players have been able to find it during a chaotic drop without checking the map. That being said, to make it easier to locate, all players have to do is look for an enormous cornfield when gliding through the air. Given the POI's sheer size, it's difficult to miss.

With that out of the way, Grim Gables will be playing host to numerous challenges during Fortnitemares 2022. As of now, there are two challenges live. One involves defeating the Inkquisitor NPC boss, while the other tasks players to search chests. Here's how to go about these tasks.

How to defeat the Inkquisitor NPC boss and search chests at Grim Gables in Fortnite - A step-by-step guide

Since both of these Fortnitemares challenges can be completed in one location, this guide will approach them in a holistic manner. That said, here's how to get started:

1) Land at Grim Gables and search chests

Land at Grim Gables during a match in which the Battle Bus' route is the farthest away from this particular POI. Doing so will ensure that very few enemies land here.

Once on the ground, enter the house and start searching through chests. There are a total of eleven chests inside the house and several more in and around the area. Open five of them to complete the challenge and earn 15,000 XP.

2) Gearing up and preparing for combat

Since the Inkquisitor NPC boss is extremely dangerous, having full shields and extra healing supplies in one's inventory is a must. Keep a close-range and mid-range weapon as well.

Once a sufficient amount of supplies and weapons have been gathered, proceed to the mine entrance located on the western side of the cornfields. For those wanting some additional firepower, they can talk to the NPC Rustler and buy the Boom Sniper Rifle for 600 gold bars. She can be found at the north eastern edge of the cornfield.

3) Starting the ritual and defeating the Inkquisitor NPC boss

Go to the lowest level and look for a ritual circle. Stand in the center to activate the ritual, which will take a few seconds to complete. Once that's done, the Inkquisitor NPC boss will spawn.

Unlike other NPC bosses in Fortnite, he has more than a few tricks up his sleeve. He can throw Firefly Jars, shoot using the Pumpkin Launcher, and spray players with his Mythic Suppressed SMG.

To avoid taking damage from the Pumpkin Launcher, sticking to high ground is the best option. Alternatively, players can build to block incoming damage and fire from above or peek around the corner and shoot at him. Once defeated, he will drop various items such as Pumpkin Launcher, Chug Splash, Firefire Jars, and ammunition.
