The Fortnitemares 2022 event is just around the corner! Epic Games announced its release on Tuesday, October 18, and many players are looking forward to it. Halloween is the most popular seasonal event in Fortnite and Epic have always done a great job with it.

The October 18 update will bring a lot of new content to the game. Most importantly, many new Halloween-themed skins will be released with it. While some of them have leaked, others remain a mystery. Some of the older popular skins will also return to the Item Shop during the event.

Earlier this year, Epic Games released a teaser image for the Fortnitemares 2022 event. It featured a couple of existing characters sitting by the campfire, but also revealed a new skin that will come with the celebrations.

While the skin from the teaser will most likely be released to the Fortnite Item Shop, Fortnite players will be able to earn a couple of free rewards during the event as well.

HYPEX, the most popular Fortnite Battle Royale leaker, expects Epic Games to release free cosmetic items with the upcoming event. This will almost certainly happen as the previous iterations had free rewards as well.

At the moment, it's impossible to say what cosmetic rewards will come with the Fortnitemares 2022 event. However, a new update will be released on Tuesday. Before servers get back up, we will get a sneak peek at all the new content that will come with it.

Judging from the previous Halloween events in Fortnite Battle Royale, we can expect Fortnitemares 2022 to bring up to three free rewards. These will likely be earned by completing special challenges and will not be available in the game after the event ends.

More changes coming with the next Fortnite update

Version 22.20 will be the second major update in Chapter 3 Season 4. Besides the Fortnitemares 2022 event, it will bring a lot of new content, including map and gameplay changes.

The Grapple Glove will be vaulted with the update, but it will most likely be replaced by the Witch Broom, a Mythic item that's amazing for mobility. Furthermore, we expect Epic Games to unvault the Pumpkin Launcher during the event as it's an iconic Halloween item.

The upcoming Fortnite Battle Royale update will also bring some map changes to the game. While most of these will have a Halloween theme, there is also a chance that Epic will expand Chrome's reach across the island.

When it comes to gameplay changes, PC players will get a diagonal movement that will give them more control over their characters. According to the leakers, a new boss will also come to the island, who will drop a new Mythic weapon, several consumables, and ammo for the Pumpkin Launcher.
