The Overclocked Pulse Rifle Mythic in Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 2 can only be obtained in one way, which is to secure the 'Golden' Capture Point on Loot Island. However, this task is easier said than done.

For the uninitiated, Loot Island is a giant floating island that 'rifts' onto the map. There's no fixed spawn location, which means that players will have to keep an eye on the sky to see when it arrives.

Alternatively, players can look out for a 'rift' indication marker that will show up as soon as the island begins to 'rift.' However, going after the Overclocked Pulse Rifle Mythic in Fortnite is extremely risky.

Why does everyone want to obtain the Overclocked Pulse Rifle Mythic in Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 2?

The Pulse Rifle was first added to the game in Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 2. The Imagined Order mass-produced these weapons to give islanders a fighting chance against the invading Kymera invasion force of The Last Reality.

Even back then, Doctor Slone had a very powerful version of this weapon that players could try to acquire. However, it's nothing compared to the Overclocked Pulse Rifle Mythic that was introduced this season.

The weapon is indeed overpowered and quite literally 'shreds' opponents to pieces and has a fire-rate of seven when in hip-fire mode,. This is insane as the projectiles look more like a beam rather than individual shots.

With each shot inflicting 38 damage (body) and 57 (head), taking down a single opponent almost feels like cheating. This has led to many within the community asking for the weapon to be nerfed and properly balanced.

That said, there is a silver lining as when aiming down sight, the weapon's fire-rate is reduced by a lot. In theory, if a player is able to get far enough from their opponent who is using the Overclocked Pulse Rifle Mythic, they may be able to survive the attack. Here's what fans have to say about the weapon:

As seen from the comments, most agree that the weapon is amazing, despite the bad balancing. While it does feel great shooting it, being on the receiving end may lead to users rage quitting.

Does this mean Doctor Slone will make a return soon?

The origin of the Pulse Rifle in Fortnite is unknown, but some players speculate that it was created by the Imagined Order. Additionally, the appearance of Loot Island, which uses assets from Fortnite Chapter 3 (when the IO invaded the "Flipside") has sparked discussion about the return of Doctor Slone.

On the flipside of things, perhaps the Overclocked Pulse Rifle Mythic is merely a variant of the original weapon that has been modded by the Peace Syndicate. Given how futuristic Mega City is, it's evident that they have the technological know-how to tweak things.

Nevertheless, it's good to keep in mind that with Geno involved in the larger picture, there's no telling who or what designed the Overclocked Pulse Rifle Mythic. The only thing known for certain is that it's designed to send opponents back into the lobby at record-breaking speeds in Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 2.
