For Fortnitemares 2022, all chickens on the islands have been turned into Zombie Chickens. These un-dead birds roam freely and scare the living daylights out of players they encounter. However, for the most part, they are still harmless and extremely easy to eliminate. Although, fair warning, they do charge and try to attack.

That said, Epic Games has a rather unusual challenge lined up for players that involve these Zombie Chickens and flying. While it might seem rather macabre, the developers definitely must have their reason. Without further ado, here's where to find Zombie Chicken in Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 4 and how to fly using them.

Zombie Chicken locations in Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 4

Snow/mountain biome

Despite the Snow/mountain biome being an unforgiving landscape, Zombie Chickens have somehow managed to find their way through the snow and settled in quite nicely. That said, they spawn in three locations within the biome:

  • North and south of Rave Cave
  • North of Seven Outpost II

Considering that Rave Cave has a lot of loot to offer and opponents will land to gear up, it may not be the best place to go hunting for Zombie Chicken. Seven Outpost II, on the other hand, is a quiet location that's perfect for some un-dead game hunting.

Alien biome

The Alien biome has seen better days and happier times in Fortnite. What was once a living alien biome filled with bioluminescent mushrooms is now a landscape crammed with decaying flora. Nevertheless, it would seem that Zombie Chickens don't mind the smell and have decided to indefinitely extend their stay in this biome. Here are their spawn locations:

  • Far north and east of Greasy Grove at Reality Roots
  • In and around Overtaken Outpost

Although finding Zombie Chicken north and east of Greasy Grove is an easier option, there's no cover to be found. If opponents open fire from across the river or from the POI itself, there will be no place to hide. Thus, the best option, by and large, is the Overtaken Outpost.

Desert biome

There are a total of 15 spawn locations for Zombie Chicken in the Desert biome. While they are a bit spread out, finding one should not be a major problem. That said, here are the locations where players can find them:

  • In and around Flutter Barn
  • Sandblast Estates
  • West of Cloudy Condos
  • In and around Impossible Rock

Although the bulk of these can be found next to Flutter Barn, going Zombie Chicken hunting at a hot-drop POI may not be the best idea. It would be better for players to look for them north of the Impossible Rock landmark.

Grass biome

Despite Chrome slowly spreading and covering the Grass biome in a metallic shine, there's plenty of greenery left on the map. That said, there are 11 possible spawn locations for Zombie Chicken in this biome:

  • Fort Jonesy
  • Tilted Towers
  • Lustrous Lagoon

Since there's an Altercation Altar near Fort Jonesy and within Lustrous Lagoon, landing at these named locations may become risky. While this may seem counter-intuitive, landing on the outskirts of Tilted Towers to find Zombie Chicken is the best option.

How to fly 75 meters with a Zombie Chicken: A step-by-step guide

  • Go to one of the aforementioned locations to find and catch a Zombie Chicken
  • While moving forward, jump to cover greater distances in a single leap
  • Once the character has moved 75 meters with a Zombie Chicken, the challenge will be completed

Keep in mind that Zombie Chicken will mitigate fall damage. This means that players can safely jump from any height without dying. However, players will most likely fall and get eliminated if an opponent manages to shoot it mid-air.
